This project is for training 60 selected high risk sexual minorities indigenous group of young people in Burundi on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS prevention by using the medias via Music and video stories that focus on awareness for reduction of stigma and discrimination, Sexual violence, teenage and unwanted pregnancies and Rights education.Grant will be also used to design and produce series of high quality educational and awareness on CDs and on DVDs materials for Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS prevention, promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right education in the Republic of Burundi.

Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
It will be done with underrepresented online young people in rural areas of Burundi, with age between 15-39 years ages. These include various talented young singers, citizen journalists, producers, recorders, photographers who will be recruited from various public background-include but not limited the young people Living With HIV and AIDs, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI youth), young men who have sex with men, commercial sex workers, and young people who use drugs as well as the groups most affected by stigma, discrimination, military-war children and youth with problems related to Human Rights Violence.My target group was chosen because it appears on the testimonies of LBGTQIs, in Burundi are not aware of how vulnerable they are to HIV/AIDS.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Stories on Sexual, Reproductive Health and Rights will be produced in formats of Music, Video, photos, and in written format as texts. The songs will be recorded in MP3, and on other format including Lyrics. Profiles of artists will be also produced in text format. Songs and stories will be accompanied with photo passport of author in order to late create photo-gallery. Every song will have a summary, its goal, description about what it addresses, who it is addressed, dream of author. The participants will have the opportunity to rehearse, write and sing and opportunity to visit studio to record free of charge song.Stories will be produced on CDs, DVDs and texts. The Association pour la Solidarite et l’Assistance Socio-Sanitaire (ASASS-BURUNDI) asbl is connected to many youth in all provinces of Burundi. I am President of Executive Committee of ASASS-BURUNDI, since 2006, ASASS BURUNDI advocate, support and mobilize young people. ASASS-BURUNDI has established Jeancka University Centre in public and public Universities of Burundi by collaborating with Iduka Micro-financing education program, www.iduka.com . Each University Centre has more than 50 youth members in 7 university campuses. Total 350 young people with 18-30 years are member in our centers. They represent ASASS-BURUNDI in province. I am also connected to Citizen Journalists in Key Correspondents Program of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance as writer from Burundi.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
Total 60 youth will be trained. Initially, with funding we hope to train minimum of 10 youths on AUDIO MUSIC PRODUCTION SOFTWARE and 10 youth will be also trained on VIDEO RECORDING SOFTWARE. Others young in various categories: 20 singers and dancers, will qualify for a title of HUMANITARIANS SINGERS, MUSICIANS”. They will obtain certificate after producing a song on CD and Video on DVD for our public campaign. They will be integrated in our Music Rehearsing group for ongoing music Campaign and advocating or fundraising needs via concerts. Another group of 10 STORIES WRITERS will be trained and be certified as (CITIZEN JOURNALISTS)- will obtain certificate after producing stories which will be edited by our International Journalists and editors.
Describe which technologies, tools, and media you will focus on when training participants.
Flip roots software, video production software, professional video camera, digital image camera, computer will be used to produce audio and video music and stories. I will focus on Radio as Medias in web, in social networks and in mobile phones will be focused on when training our participants. Keyboard, sound recording, musical instruments, computers with audio recording software, headphones, microphones, computer with internet access to share content and the process of the project will be used. I am singer, dancer, composer, writer, and have composed and recorded songs with different themes. I expect to share this experience with young people. The tools will be introduced such as AUDIO PLAYERS, VIDEO PLAYERS, and Internet. We will focus more on media in social networks.
Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
We preferred to use a training room which is equipped with a projector, computer and internet connection as well as with speakers. In that room there is 8 desk top computers, 2 laptops and webcam. There is appropriated internet connection speed, WiFi and broadband cable connection.
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
As a Citizen Journalist, writer from Burundi for Key Correspondents program of International HIV/AIDS Alliance, www.keycorrespondents.org , I have interviewed good number of commercial sex workers, young people Living With HIV and AIDs, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI youth), young men who have sex with men, and young people who use drugs and other affected by stigma, discrimination, military-war children and youth with problems related to Human Rights Violence in urban province, particularly in commune of Kamenge . I live nearby that community, and regularly visit it. Those high risk youth group ask me to bring them support or help them get involved.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
Challenge I must face when implementing this project is to transform youth to adopt a career of using arts and music in health sector, for promotion of Sexual, reproductive health and Right by including instructive messages related to key topic for spreading public awareness and educating people about HIV/AIDS and TB. But, because I have developed agenda and plans for this project, youth will adopt this project because it is innovative one.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
To measure and evaluate the project’s impact, I will analyze the results of each participant, interview them, offer a pre-test and post evaluation test. We will also make them evaluate the training programme and make sure they follow up on future training needs.
