This project is on creating awareness on breast cancer among the young rural women workers by voice mail and bulk SMS in Tamil language. By this project we would reach out nearly 20000 rural women of south tamilnadu where breast cancer occurrence is very severe now days. We would also use social networking like Face book to reach the college going girls.

Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
Sine we work among the rural women of Madurai area ( three districts ) of south india , we came to use for information updates every month.
These rural women workers do not have the access to watch TV daily and The only connection is via Mobile phones.
These women leave their kids at home – often fail to breast feed regularly.
Other than this they do not check up their reproductive cycles- and ignore early symptoms.
The net result is cervical and breast cancer and allied RTI.
We would work with them to gap the digital divide and facilitate them to their story for possible medical help.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
we will create SMS and MMS containing the women health topics and also produce short videos with case studies and health tips to avoid cancer and allied diseases
These would be sent to them by bulk voice mail/ MMS thro mobile phones – having a data base of all their numbers
We will keep face book updates with messages and photos for early interaction between the women and medical support

More over we are with women entrepreneurs association of Tamilnadu for wider networking.
For Technical collaboration we have contacted ACPS- a leading skill trainers of our city
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
we hope to train 240 women as torch bearers. They in turn would reach 2400 women in 12 months.
Their participation would be sustained by the incentives which they would get from the hospitals

we have five computers, internet connections, digital videos, computer labs for editing

since we are with them for the past seven years. our free service s to help them for credit linkages and child rescue , we became the appropriate organisation for this project.
More over we are fighting breast cancer since 2002

no such challenges for this project. It is need based one not against any body

we would measure the impact by the women participation in numbers and the frequency of their participation.
The secondary aspect would be the reduction of breast cancer patients and the decline in deaths due to cancer among the women
