The project seeks to training women of barlonyo massacre in northern uganda, on digital story telling and documentation within six months duration,580 people were massacred in total, with 301 people were buried in mass grave, the training will enable women to be effective in sharing the poor and vulnerable conditions of life their community members are living in, this will be achieved through partnering with one photo studio company,one computer company where, at least two experienced personnel in the two fields will become part of the project staffs.

Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
My organization will be working with the following specific populations:
-Surviving widows victims of the massacre, those who lost their husbands, children, relatives and dependants during the massacre and or have remained with orphans
-Women who escaped the massacre, but lost their relatives remained at the displaced camps when the massacre incident happened and have all the children, relatives.
-widowers who lost all their wives and children, relatives, dependants or lost their wives and have remained with children, relatives, and dependants.
-Leaders or authorities of the camps at the time will help give a clear picture of the vulnerable and economic conditions during and after the conflict and,
-Emerging progressive leaders who who are the advocates the community.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
the kinds of news that or media output that will be created will be documentary stories on:
-the massacre of people displaced in the camp by the rebels where 580 people lost their lives, 301 was buried in mass grave at the site, the community and the trauma, spiritual shadow they are experiencing after the incident.
-stories on marginalization,poor,vulnerable and traumatized conditions of life,they are living in; to the extend that; it is affecting participation in their economic recovery.
-what is the need or priorities they have, which if action is taken on, will result to improved living conditions of their life (poverty reduction).
this stories will be documented in the context of oral,narrative,revival story telling and publish on the internet online.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established or plan to establish that will contribute to the success of the project.
-the organization has build connections with the local leaders in the project area i.e. the local council 1 to 3 i.e. from the village to sub county level.
-the organization has establish contact/ connection with former leaders of camps who were managing the 42 camps existing in the sub region during the conflict/war times, their services will valuable in terms of credence and information in need.
-The organization has established cordial and warm relations with barlonyo community development association for the victims and ten other affiliate groups, three (3) community based organizations operating in the project area; which will help in mobilizing the target groups for the project, ensure their participation into the project, monitor, evaluate and report the project.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
The project will train seventy women (70); with sixty (60) identified women in their individual capacity and ten (10) women heads of the community groups; they will be trained in digital story telling, using digital equipment application and using internet computer and tools all of which will be undertaken within the context of citizen journalism.
their participation in the project will be sustained through, through building a strong relation with the community leaders, consider their recommendation for the project,encourage their husbands or relatives to accompany them to avoid misunderstanding in their homes, which can result to domestic violence, make them contribute to the project i.e cleaning training rooms,give authority to credible persons mobilize the community for the project
Describe which technologies, tools, and media you will focus on when training participants.
the project will use digital video technology, digital photography which will be translated into video,with information computer technology(ICT) being used interchangeably to make effective documentation of the story telling of the community effective,services like online tools like blogue,podcast,you tube, among others will be used
the media that will be used, will be face book, twitter, the recorded stories will be loaded on the internet as video and the audio stories will recorded and played as news and documentaries.
the technical skills that that the partners will bring to the project will be, experience in digital photo taking,editing and documentation, computer internet services with specifics on internet online skills and expertise.
Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
The training workshop will be held at the dining hall for agro technical institute constructed at the barlonyo memorial site, constructed by the government of Uganda in memory of the people murdered so as to improve living conditions of the youths earn a living through using the technical skills they have learnt from the school built for them.
The hall is composed of 15.1 meter long and 9.5 meter wide, it is opposite, the V shape mass grave of 301 people buried at the site, it can accommodate over 150 people.
at least two digital video cameras,two one audio recorders, five computers will with five USD modems will be needed, one generator and assorted facilities will be required to ensure effective training and documentation of the stories of the community action area.
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
The current relationship between our organization and the community is that:
-Organization is the agent of economic improvement in the project area, where three (3) community based groups is being trained in agricultural production skills and management of their institutions.
-Our organization is the advocacy and lobbying institution for the victims of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) in the project action area,it mobilized the community to participate in for advocacy and lobbying against SGBV in the district.
-organization is a legally operating organization and recognized by the sub county of the project action area, but also too recognized by the district authorities
Those described statements make our organization suitable to implement the project without doubt
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
-There will be the challenges of mobilization, participation and entrancement by the community of the project given the nature of the traumatized community who are reeling out of the conflict, this will be handled through intensive and continuous sensitization and working closely with the leaders.
-The project aims to train at least selected seventy (70) which may annoy those who did not succeed in obtaining a ticket for training which will be addressed through continuous explanation and offering assurances of their participation in future opportunities..
-Majority of the community do not know how to use digital and computer services this will be addressed through getting trainable persons and have at least skills in computer, be trained and replicate to those who do not know.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
The project will monitor and evaluated through:
-The project director and at least two members of the board
-the office of the assistant community development officer of the sub county where the project site is located
-The community based organizations operating in the project area and this will be important in tracking the synergies or attribution of the institutions operation in the project area in relation to this project
-The local authorities and opinion leaders of the project areas and the wider community of Barlonyo project area.

Final evaluation meeting will be held to evaluate the project in the context of out comes and impacts of the intervention, what are the successes and challenges, ways of mitigation of the challenges
If your project were to be selected as a Rising Voices grantee, what would be the general timeline of project activities in 2014?
The project implemented within six months i.e. from:1st june to 31st December 2014
-The first month i.e. June 2014 will have planning, organizing, for the project which involves briefing staffs, purchase of equipments/facilities for the project and undertaking consultation with stakeholders at Sub County.
-The months i.e. august 2014 will be identification and needs Assessment of the project participants
-The forth month i.e. September to October 2014 will be, training of the participants on digital story telling and documentation
-the months i.e. November to December 2014 will be documentation and publication of the stories from the project action area.

-rising voices should continue to help to maintain the publication of the digital story telling of the community through meeting the cost of maintaining the website and blogues opened as it may prove to be expensive to maintain them, this will be necessary after the project has ended.
-rising voices should connect of link the stories of the project action action area to the people or donors which can help to address the plight of the community i.e direct support in the context of addressing the economic needs of the people who are now living poor and vulnerable and life.
