The project “Citizen journalism“ is a video-blogging kind of project. It will be used to indicate problems in 30 local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to demonstrate the democratization.
ONAuBiH will create a network of 30 local teams in 30 communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to perform this project. Each local team is consisted of young people (15-30 years old) who will, using their smartphones, cell-phones, tablets and other technical equipment, each week make a 3-5 minutes video, indicating problem(s) in their community. Videos will be uploaded to social networks.
Topical focus:
Country:
What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
30 cities/local communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
Citizens do not resort to methods that are available to them today, to recognize the problem and share it on social networks. In this even the young population does not stand out. There are various political pressures, but also fear for publishing content that detect non-compliance with various rights. That's the reason why citizens do not use videos to make their views and concerns to the public.
With this project we want to show that citizens, especially young people, do not have to be professional journalists and researchers, to put forward their problems and point to their existence.
This project will help young people acquire critical thinking skills and research on the problems, but the potential problem solving in local communities too.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
We will give an opportunity to young people from 30 BH communities for getting media space to present problems in their local communities. This will be happening every week. All videos will be posted on Youtube™ channel, Facebook™ page of ONAuBiH and Facebook™ page of every local team, and other social networks, as well as on ONAuBiH official website. This project will teach young people how to express the problem in the local community, how to seek help from the authorities, lobbying mechanisms, and to strive that a problem in their local environment is resolved. This will be a good mechanism for citizen journalism in order to learn the skills of youth-citizen journalism.
The movement of activating young people and the general population to indicate problems in their communities.
