Kenya: Do Not Buy Stolen Property – Kisumu City

  April 7, 2014

“Do Not Buy Stolen Property” is a project that aim to use citizen media to promote good citizenship and personal responsibility by discouraging the residents of Kisumu City from buying stolen goods or goods from questionable sources. The overall objective of this campaign is to discourage the involvement of young people in crime by reducing the number of channels through which they can convert stolen goods into cash.

Bosnia Herzegovina: The Other Side of the Story – Roma Population

Roma in BiH are the most numerous minority group. The exact number of Roma is not known. The Kakanj municipality today is one with the highest Roma population, but they are not represented in media. Our NGO is the owner of web portal called Kaportal.ba. We want to buil a series of stories about Roma population in our city: 10 articles and media campaign called The other side of the story: Roma population, to unbias comunity about Roma population.

Ukraine: Lugansk Urban Legends

The project envisages the creation of the site – a network resource “Lugansk urban legends”. It will be filled with stories, urban legends , myths and fairy tales about the city. We suggest to place texts , audio-video and photographs . We plan to collect materials by the project team and will offer to our consumers to place their interesting materials. Site will show the city in a casual way. We will be able to concentrate a maximum of interesting information about the city, to form Lugansk`s new image. Site will create a virtual face of the city and to support cultural initiatives community.

Palestine: Disadvantaged Population and Citizen Media

It has been recognized that not all the needs within the Palestinian society were covered, with so much demand for specific services for Palestinians who face daily challenges, mentally, socially, psychologically and physically, Hand Without Limits Foundation ( HWL), sought to bring into surface this project, in which HWL will provide aid and guidance, and will provide the necessary training, workshops, educational sessions for Palestinian community mainly in rural areas in which they have lack of knowledge of citizen's media.

Lebanon: ALLEPH – Collaborative Digital Arabic Content Production

Alleph is an interactive educational portal that connects Arab youth and public figures to build connections, and develop communication, and problem solving skills. Alleph will “gamify” collaborative writing on public issues, making it accessible for young people to think together to solve everyday problems, while contributing to the dynamic production of Arabic digital content. Collaborative writing includes elements of different media (print, visual, audio, video) and different genres (fiction, non-fiction, citizen reporting, etc.)

Serbia: Expanding Space for Citizens Activism

This project aims to create a coordinated network of civic initiatives that would cooperate in addressing the issues of urban development policies and urban resource management, firstly on local, and then gradually to a national level. At the same time project will provide a online platform for exchange of experience and knowledge among existing initiatives and offering resources to the upcoming ones.

Uganda: ICT for Talent Development and Improved Livelihoods

Tell digital stories about issues important to the community. The objective is to contribute to project the voice & share stories with the world as a means to provide insight to the community, their challenges or successes, told from a uniquely personal perspective. Free and widely available citizen media tools and social media platforms will also be used. Stories on different pertinent issues identified will be told & shared electronically using different forms of media to include text, visuals, audios and videos- to include awards all towards peaceful co-existence & sustainable development.

Rwanda: Innovation of the Agricultural Techniques

This project is based in the rural area in Eastern province of Rwanda where people live mainly by agriculture. Since last years the agriculture production is decreasing and so we find some people flying the region to other parts of the country. The peasants need to have enough information to have enough crops and so to improve their living conditions. This project will help them to be able to use their land adequately because they will share all information regarding the agriculture because until now everybody works individually without consulting the experts in that scope.

Egypt: Felucca to Support the Issues of the Suez Canal Cities
