the proposed project will be showcasing stories of girls who have had and are having experiences with cases of teenage pregnancy, early motherhood and marriage, and sexually transmitted infections. the project is to serve as a platform where this experiences will be shared and discussed, with the objective of sensitizing the public against the ills and dangers of these issues that are rather not talked about for cultural and religious reasons.

The population we will be working with are those marginalized on the basis of teenage pregnancy, rape and sexually transmitted diseases. The role that the have in the development of this proposal is that their stories which is often disregard and shied away from is what inspiring us. For the fact that the issues aforementioned are handled with irritation in this part of the world, there is hardly an existing online forum to talk about these issues, thus making them a community under represented online. In VGCF we see sharing of stories as a good medium for social change, we feel publishing this stories will go along way in reshaping and redirecting the already existing perceptions on these issues. the targets of this project are already familiar the use of the internet.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Stories of teenage pregnancy, early motherhood,rape and sexually transmitted infections are to be created. The vision behind the creation of this stories is to sensitize the populace on these issues and as well advocate against the discrimination of victims of the earlier mentioned cases. the vision of these exercises is to regulate to barest minimum the marginalization and as well the mindset that exist as a result of the aforementioned issues. participants will be creating the following media output; facebook, twitter and a blog.

this organization is into partnership with the ministry of women affairs Ministry of health and to implement this project intend to partner with the national orientation agency
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
A total of fifty(50) participants will be trained in the areas of emotional intelligence,reproductive health and use of the social media. ten(10) participants from five different communities with high prevalence of the already mentioned social problems. The participants will be selected and trained, after which they will conduct step down trainings, the step down training will require them to create accounts and blog, as well get their friends to share their stories. The project will be sustained using religious leaders and community gatekeepers as fore fronts of the sensitization and advocacy exercises. Prospective participants will be selected after interviews. Those who exhibit boldness and willingness to share their stories and experiences publicly will be selected and trained.
Describe which technologies, tools, and media you will focus on when training participants.
the technology tools and media we will be focusing on will include mobile phones, laptops, Reuters and modems. We have staff who are experts in the use of several computer applications,this our staff will use the technological tools at hand to train the participants on how to use the aforementioned technological tools.
Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
Five facilities will be used in the five communities where the training sessions will be conducted. cyber cafes with at-least fifteen computer capacity and an alternative power supply.
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
Voice for the girl child foundation has a close relationship with the communities involve as we are conversant with not just their local dilates, but also with their way of life. we have carried out several capacity buildings, as well as projects in these localities in the past.
we are most appropriate for this project because as our name implies(Voice for the girl child foundation) the organization the organization has been operating for about four years and has remained dedicated to the cause of the girl child. The organization is programmed to empower the girl child in several ways through advocacy,counselling, and mentoring. In the past we have carried out several of such programmes, thus making us capable of handling much more.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
some of the challenges the organization is expecting to face in the cause of planning and implementing this project are likely to be that of insecurity; most of these communities reflect acute social problems , inaccessibility due to thuggery could e a major problem where baseline survey is to be carried out successfully. also the conservative ideas held the majority of the populace as a result of cultural and religious beliefs is likely to constitute another problem, getting people to share their story and experiences will be the problems.
As ways to curtail the projective concerns, the organization will make use of the security agencies where necessary and religious and traditional leaders as fore fronts of the sensitization and advocacy activities.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
The impact of the project will be determine by the rape cases reported by the security agencies and relevant civil society organizations,also the number of people ready to share their stories and experiences and the number of people who join the online forum.

the duration of the project will be three months if granted from May to July 2014. Below is the activity breakdown:
