Philippines: Changing the World Through Values Education
Values Education is a process by which we can transmit positive values to other people. Positive values begets positive actions and this is what we need to change the world. Changing the World Through Values Education is aimed to train Values Educators in the Philippines. Abraham Lincoln said, “If I have six hours to chop a tree, I would spend the first four hours to sharpen the axe.” Hence, this project will help Values educators to better transform Filipino students and other Filipinos in the community as well by giving them the right tools in teaching.
India: Virtual Resource Pool for Disability Issues in Namakkal
Society of Education Research for Village Improvement and Community Empowerment, a NGO based at Namakkal in Tamilnadu,India. We have been working for the various issues of disability in Namakkal & Karur districts in Tamilnadu,India with community & institution based approaches. We also run a special school for the mentally challenged children. We would like to bring in the participation of the medical experts, trainers, physiotherapists and other resource agencies to the rehabilitation of the disabled children in various forms and to create a virtual resource pool to address these issues.
Serbia: Voice of Hungarian Mothers in Serbia
On Mothers Day, 4-th of May this year we start with a web site for hungarian minority families, parents, where they can find every information they need about parenting, pregnancy, our hospitals, their rights etc. We would like to get in contact with parents who live in villages – hungarian minority mostly live there, to help them giving the right information about subvention they are entitled.
Bolivia: The Voice of Bolivian Shoe Shiners
8 years we provide shoeshiners a voice & opportunities- published 47 editions of a magazine sold & written by 50 shoeshiners who keep all profit if they attend weekly workshops on personal growth and work on the magazine. Currently we have 30 in technical education scholarships, incl. communication and design, 20 on school support, and we give health & legal support. We propose expanding from printed to online media to improve the human rights situation of shoeshiners through thier own empowerment: providing physical means, facilities, & training resulting in a global online voice.
Morocco: Our Voices Heard in the World
Project seeks to train 40 organizations in the region and help them to establish their website and also opened their accounts on social networks and YouTube for free , and help them how to publish, communicate and make their voices heard to the world , trying through the project to support this organizations to disseminate its voices and to open to the world by the new media , in terms of : training them . And the project will be achieved due to the close to each others and also the permanent communicative with them via other courses that we’d organized.we shall explain all the steps.
Pakistan: Sanitary Workers Rights movement in AJK
Sanitary workers are the poorest persons and are victimized by the local communities, concerned departments for the tough working hours, low wages, temporary employment,social and cultural exclusion,political victimization.Being the most ignored people having no employment rights, can be terminated anytime without any legal base by the government authorities due to political weakness and usually not granted the right to vote in the general elections.This project will have to support the movement protect their rights being the human and being the state servants.
Uganda: Clear Shots Media Group
Clear Shots Media group was founded with the core aim of offering quality video production and still photography services to clients and giving hands on experience in video and still photo taking to the underprivileged in vulnerable communities around Uganda and Africa at large. We aim at the communities using media as an empowering tool to uplift them selves out of poverty.
Pakistan: Awaz Program (Voices Program)
JAAGO FOUNDATION is working on the basic rights of women and young girls in Pakistan. Firstly, through the customs, traditions and the tribal system here restrict women's rights is called. There are so many issues for girls in this situation. Badin, where we are working on the Lockheed-Martin.Nearly 80 percent of the people reached by radio. 77% has reached mobile and 46% net. We managed to both boys and girls of girls ‘ rights and information successes of their own radio, mobile and networking through to young girls. And let their legal education, consciousness and awareness.
Kenya: The Slum Voices
Whenever you come across a story about slums in Kenya’s mainstream media, it will most probably be negative; relating to crime, fire, drugs, prostitution, floods etc. This coverage paints a negative image of the slums and the residents. The Slum Voices is a citizen journalism program aimed at telling the world the positive stories from slums by the residents themselves through videos and pictures taken using their mobile phone cameras. The program targets all slum communities and will equip interested residents with basic journalism skills to help them tell their stories.
South Africa: Social Media Communication Academy
DeafNET is a world class network of knowledge and expertise in the interest of people who experience deafness and related communication barriers on the continent of Africa. We will train deaf people to tell their own story’s by means of utilizing there video function on their mobile phones or other video facility’s to their disposal. Techniques like subtitling & narration will be taught to empower them with video as a means of communication across the Deaf boundaries. Those who are deaf, who were not able to write, can now also communicate/express themselves with video.
