Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
The initiative stems from a process of decentralization of the services we provide in the park library to bring these resources to the community, in this case for the most part participants were older adults and observed interest in learning these manage these tools for personal and collective use, we decided to work with them for we note is a population that is not taken note in many occasions and taking advantage the collective interest losing fear of the technological, want to set a precedent and stop teaching these people that it is never too late to start, is a project that demands a lot of effort from the servers that will be in charge, this because the general population does not have knowledge base on the subject.

It is planned to create different groups in social networks, E-mail, also to create the blog where the project participants show their experiences and develop their ideas, which allow the social inclusion of all this population that sometimes little heard, for this will be take advantage of the different ways the diffusion are there the Public Library System of Medellín – SBPM, for this initiative diffusion

To contibute to the succes of proyect, we have with the experience of different formative process carried out in association with the entity Makaia e Intel, this project we facilitates the formation of citizens in the employment of the TIC´S applied to improve their living conditions. Another successful experience born of the “Traveller Park” (activity that seeks to decentralize all library services) which together with the entity Club de Vida (promoter of fun training with the elderly), we seeks offer our services in management training of the information systems and communication to the elderly.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
Initially account whit 32 people on formation process because the virtual rooms of Library Park have this capacity, but we have more people registered, pending for beginning the process, the project is focused on reducing the technological gap that we observe in the area of influence and more whit the population you want to work, so we are sure that will be a very successful project for people, because it is thought to resolve own community need, by medium for this may express and may express and disseminate their opinions, either in the area of residence or in your community, also will be recognized for the city
Describe which technologies, tools, and media you will focus on when training participants.
In this moment account whit different processes of formation which the most call our attention was the group of Virtual Grandparents. Whit this sector is most complicated for the formation in TIC because they are more fearful to changes of the news technologies, but in this case accounts with the enthusiasm of all population for learn news tools that could be applied in everyday life. The managers process contribute the experience acquired in forming above processes because they are best people and committed to service delivery where we look provide knowledge to our community and give a different view of the tools TIC
Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
The project will be conducted in the Library Park presbyter José Luis Arroyave Restrepo – San Javier, the virtual room account whit the 32 equipment enabled for the continue work, they have operative system licensed Windows 7 professional, 1Gb memory RAM y 80Gb of Hard Disk, the equipment account whit the varied software as they are the different program of the Microsoft office and software of techno-support, the red have the network has a dedicated channel of 20Mb for optical fiber which is divided into two virtual rooms each with a bandwidth of 10Mb, the connection is made by Wireless, also account whit one AP which makes times server DHCP to deliver IP Address dynamically.
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
In this moment the formation process is already underway, is being made once a week on Tuesday, where working two hours about a specific topic, like participating users doesn´t have any knowledge on the topic, we are teaching the more basics of computer equipment to begin
familiar with the subject, later take forward with all efforts the virtual grandparents, our main focus is to get our users from appropriating of the tools that work and can apply them in their daily lives to improve their abilities communicative and improve their quality of life.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
one of the biggest obstacles we can to find is to keep interest and enthusiasm in people to participate in the project, is an initiative that comes from a observed need in our community, clearly know the social problems are there in our sector of influence and sometimes it is difficult to travel to the place where the project will develop, but it´s in every one put the best to take forward these citizen initiatives, which we can serve of seed for big changes in our communities
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
We are completely convinced that with the commitment of each of the participants in this initiative and the desire they have to learn, find that it´s the largest motor having our project. We're betting a little change and improve the lives of these people, giving the opportunity to be heard and give a different look to this commune that has been in the process of change. More
which measure results, we want to leave planted the seeds of change in each of these persons and they both like us make the most of the implementation of this project as a life experience.
If your project were to be selected as a Rising Voices grantee, what would be the general timeline of project activities in 2014?
We have a general plan that describes each of the sessions and topics for these, the first
sessions are rapprochement with computer equipment and the different tools we can find these, followed begin work on the topic of neighborhood reports, like is a old population it takes a long time living in the neighborhood we can find great experiences in these and thus begin to realize the project with the community, using the media in our power to capture and tell their stories. The project is planned to last approximately 5 months, once a week on Tuesdays with an intensity of 2 hours a week, because we have other processes at the moment, same way timetable is subject to changes and adjustments to improve their learning and teaching.
