We wish to point out that we intend to develop the knowledge in ICT and media communication among the estate, Village youth community with live in Maskeliya, and Hatton areas of Ambagamuwa Korali of Nuwara-Eliya district. Through this programme the Management skills of youth could be developed. Their skills in Digital Video, Social Mapping etc will be disclosed through this process, 10 numbers youth groups will be mobilized by us in order to handle conflict Reconciliation strategies and address the social problem through Democratic process. There is no proper systematic video documentation.

Our Organization UPSAC- SRILANKA (Up-Country Social Action Centre) provides youth capacity building and democratic values in our rural and Estate areas. We are highlighting all ethnic youth, irrespective of our ethnic youths, religious affiliation in the target groups. Most of the youth, they have face book accounts, twitters, and email id. But there are no capable leadership qualities, peace buildings, conflict transformation and Network among the youth. We given rich oral culture of these communities, therefore we are planned short video documentaries will be more accessible and culturally relevant to support youth conflict reconciliation and ethnic peace initiatives in our communities. This process will be important and promote youth conflict and reconciliation in Srilanka hill area.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Ethnic video clips of youth from different ethnics, different religious, different trade unions, to promote action on conflict reconciliation to neighboring estate and rural area youth to capacity building workshops, meditation, value education, and democratic values. Such video will be powerful testimony of our efforts of youth network to, accountability, responsibility, transparent sustain peaceful co-existence in their communities.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established or plan to establish that will contribute to the success of the project.
In each of youths are participating in all ethnic youth communities. We already formed youth Association. We will form only youth network through this micro fund. The youth will registered under ministry of youth affairs. Their support for this project will enhance its sustainability. Some youth groups act independently.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
Our project will aim at training 30 youth groups direct beneficiaries’ ( 15 Female, 15 male – Gender Balance) from multi ethnic youth groups. There are 10 youth groups act very strongly and good vision. Each youth groups members 30. Total youth group member 300. One Full time male officer is working with the youths.

We will mobilize Media Professionals among the youths and make them to do Advocacy about the conflicts of the society. We will make use of the Micro soft, Adobe foundation through software items without any charges aiming to create a favorable Environment for the Learners.

Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
We wish to initiate this programme at Dickoya Area in Nuwara-Eliya District since the location is suitable water facilities and electricity facilities and ADSL connection are available without any hindrance. We have 02 Numbers computers and also Human Resources. We have planned to purchase 02 Number computers in addition for us to strengthen our activities.
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
It is our Long term project to protect the Conflict & reconciliation and the society should have gained adequate knowledge in this connection, basing this vision we have planed to create a YOUTH PARLIAMENT comprising estate, Village youths. Our intention is to make changes in their mindsets towards violence less society with the knowledge Democratic Rights.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
•The youth between 15- 35 ages will be protected since they act collectively.
•The Trade Unions and stake holders will look at these youths with wrong attitude or mindset.
•The Estate Managements do not appreciate the youths to study out of the estate.
•The Police and security forces will give hindrances since the youth act collectively.
THE SOLUTIONS.
The Objective of the project must be clearly explained to all the participants and stakeholders. Because the youth lost their mutual trust between the ethnics communities may some youth reluctant to tell their stories, their threatened, experiences to others. We adopters of technology will be identified from all the communities and help them to own the project from inception. This will help to ensure safety and security.
