Macedonia: Save the Mounting

This project is another step in the fight for the citizens of Skopje , the capital of the Republic . Macedonia , against the construction of buildings and usurpation of mountain water . This mountain is the lungs of the city and has been reforested many years since the previous political system . Many buildings that have sprouted crossed the line of permissible. Due to the nature of the mountain soil on few places, the soil began to descend, and one asphalt is cracked . In the constructed buildings many people have settled and with them they brought many cars and pollution has increased.

Macedonia: Roma Culture Online

Nowadays, the internet started to become a multicultural storage place containing information of various nations, cultures, customs and identities. Living in the age of the internet, vulnerable groups such as Roma face the risk of losing their own cultural narrative, identity, customs and tradition, without participating in 2.0 web interaction or in other words to store digital information about their culture. Our aim is to build the capacity of young Roma to collect, store and upload their own cultural information using open source technology and challenge society.

Macedonia: My Crazy Story – Reshaping Identity

Carrying out this project we’ll help young people (18-35 years old) with mental health issues to tell their stories and connect with each other. Through storytelling trainings they’ll learn the best way to share their experiences and use of coping mechanism and through training for blogging they will gain skills for increasing their visibility. Furthermore, though this process people with mental health issues will be transformed from passive consumers of mental health care into experts by experience. Simultaneously MH practitioners will gather more data from narratives within social context.

Macedonia: No for Underage Marriages Among Roma

Children give birth children. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness among young Roma population and their parents and once again reminded their children should not go a married too early, on 12, 13, 14 years old. This project will be a multimedia project by non-profit organization NGO “ZZPD. This NGO's work is dedicated to Roma young people up to 15 years old. Anyway the world has a problem with excess population, especially in poor areas. Will be a opportunity for Roma by training them to use media tools to tell their stories, and establish better communicati. with other ethnicity

Macedonia: Visuallizing NGO’s Success Stories in Macedonia

The project proposal has the overall objective of raising the awareness and educating the NGO sector members in Macedonia for overcoming the major encountered obstacles during the start-up phase. The project consists of two main activities: producing a short documentary with success stories of NGO’s that have already successfully passed the start-up phase and organizing one 4-hour workshop on “Experiencing the Start-Up Phase and Digitalization for NGO’s” intended for members of newly established NGO’s in Macedonia. The project will last from 1 August – 31 December 2014.

Macedonia: Know Your Local Rights!

This project has as its purpose to introduce the local rights and obligations to citizens of Strumica. The need of such project and the creation of an online newsletter in form of a website are of significant importance for acknowledgement of the local rights, but in meantime endorsement of the local rights too. Through creation of a website , which primary will serve as place for acknowledgement of the human rights, the citizens will be able to find out how to use properly their own rights, but also how to respect and fulfill their obligations towards the society.

Macedonia: Citizens Beyond the Margins – Teachers’ Views!

This project aims at encouraging citizenship education teachers to voice (1) the affect of citizenship education on their primary-school students; and (2) the difficulties they are facing in regards to teaching citizenship education. The project team will visit up to 8 teachers in most remote areas of the country and support them to record their stories, produce videos and share them on-line. Other citizenship teachers will be invited to post their own videos on the newly created f-book group. The post with most ‘likes’ will win the mobile phone purchased and used for the project activities.

“Face to face with the citizens” is a project that aims to increase the quantity and the quality of the stories related to socially engaged topics and practice as well as to strengthen the civic journalism in the country. More, it has a goal of involving people to report and react on topics that are socially engaged, a step that will justify the benefits of the active citizenship and civic journalism. “Face to face with the citizens” basis its concept on establishing the need for active citizenship.

Macedonia: The Educational Platform

We would like to propose the implementation of a learning platform on which people would be able to record themselves teaching certain skills, like foreign languages, computer sciences, drawing, cooking, etc. Those videos would be preserved so that any other visitor coming on our website would have the possibility to review them, and hopefully, to show his/her gratitude by recording a video as well. We also organize seminars, in person, and we would like to make them easily accessible. Entire project would be attached to our website, www.danaucime.mk.

Macedonia: Media Literacy for Roma Youth

This project aims at training young ROMA from the Tetova region on online media literacy through which will be able to express their culture,their struggles,their identity and the discrimination that they face. Additionally, the project will try to portray the future of ROMA, the way they see it not the way that it is tried to be imposed by other communities;the social inclusion process from the perception of ROMA themselves in terms of how they want other communities to include them and not to force them into integrating; build communication links between young ROMA and the rest of the youth.
