Madagascar: Malagasy Youth 2015: Challenges & Dreams

we aim at bringing Malagasy youth voice to the discussion around the Post 2015 agenda. Through our Youth Leadership and activism training we will indentify 24 Young people and we will train them in community mapping, story telling, photograhy, group discussion facilitation. After an intensive national training they will work in peer and go to rural area of Madagascar where Young people doesnt have access or doesnt even know Facebook or the internet to capture their lives, spend time to understand their challenges and share them online through photography

India: Jagriti – Power to Empower – Awareness Program for Girls & Women

Uganda: The Mobile Photovoice Media for Communities

The Mobile Photovoice Media is a flat form where issue of concern to the community can be publicized and discussions created. (Advertising works for product promoters), in the same way this project can be use to reach the community fast and cheaply. The Photovoice is for 10 people who are born and lived in this area, ignored by the community and their voices have never been heard are able to tell their stories through photos. They suffered the same fate as everyone during the Lord Resistance Army Wars in Northern Uganda. “I would love a photo of myself” that can tell my story!

Zimbabwe: Giving the Tshwao a Voice

The Tshwao people of Zimbabwe, numbering about 2500 people, currently living lives of poverty in the outer edges of western Zimbabwe in Tsholotsho and Plumtree are slowly rising up and claiming their space in development issues. After being moved from the then Wankie Game Reserve in 1928 (Now Hwange National Park) during the colonial era, have remained unnoticed and thus are living as subjects to other tribes. The project seeks to tell the Tshwao story through photo books story telling, video and through social network. The aim is to connect with others to share ideas, skills and expirience

Nigeria: Citizen Media for Peace Building in Kafanchan

Communities around Kafanchan continue to be targets of ethnic/ religious conflicts that has destroyed lives and homes since 2011. Several Government-sponsored efforts do not seem to be achieving the desired results. The main perpetrators of the violence are armed youths on opposing sides while the bulk of the consequences are borne by women who have to look after the wounded, the dying and cope with the loss of loved ones. So far, there is no systematic video documentation that captures the stories of the women on both sides, who are bear the brunt of the violence

Nepal: Information of LGBTI Issues through Online

Pahichan or Identity in one of the only LGBTI radio program in Nepal having both online and radio program for LGBTI . It provides information for SOGI people to convince Nepali society to respect the human rights and to empower these minorities to push for their rights. It was formed in 2011 and works in 13 FM stations and delivers information and all the activities are highlighted online, but most of news are in Nepali hindering other international community to understand the work done in Nepal. Hence the project intends to translate the work done in English and share to other community.

Ghana: You Care Voice Platform

Youth Concern and Responsive to Environment (YOU CARE) Voice Platform is a platform of youth representing the 12 rural areas of Wa Municipal where environment has been degraded so bad. They will be trained how to use a simple digital camera, basic journalism tips and take photos of environmental degradation and post it on a Facebook group they will create to build awareness amongst their peers who has no qualms of environmental care. The platform will be a pilot project to create community journalism using Facebook where most of the youth in this part of the world is familiar with.
