Liberia: Citizen's Watch Against Corruption

This project is designed to get young people to join the fight against corruption and keeping a firm watch through the use of the digital electronic media (mobile phones & social media networking site). The project will make the best use of the social media platform on facebook where a forum or group will be created and trainings conducted for the forum admins to properly manage the forum and ensure the effective participation of the citizens in achieving the envisaged project's objective to contribute towards the MDGs and fight against corruption.

Philippines: Citizen Documentation for Forest Sustainability

This project aims to empower the small farmers organization living near the buffer zone of Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary who are involved in forest conservation by training them on documentations, reporting system and setting of Community Information Center as communications pool regarding protection activities within the sanctuary and outreach strategies to promote environmental conservation in Davao Oriental, Philippines, and develop an online social network to engage their peers around the world to share, learn, and support their campaign in the global community.

Uganda: Raising Voices for the Rural People

Snow Rural Community Development is proposing to implement a project that will target the youth in Kasese district focusing on those that stay and live in the rural area by giving them skills and knowledge on how to capture stories, community needs, lessons and experiences of the rural people and share the information through the media by partnering with the local radio stations. The proposed project will support the rural unemployed youth to promote the right to communication and technology. After sharing the stories through the media it will be an opportunity for community development.

Uganda: Amplifying Voices of Former Cattle Rustlers

This project aims to highlight the challenges that former cattle rustlers are facing following the forceful disarmament exercise that the Government of Uganda carried out in the remote Karamoja sub-region. Most of the youths locally known as ‘karacunas’ depended on cattle rustling as an economic activity but following the disarmament exercise the practice has been curtailed. However nothing is known about how they are now copying up with life having lost their part of livelihood ( cattle rustling). This project will equip them with skills to report issues that affect them in the social media

India: Women's Health Update

This project is on creating awareness on breast cancer among the young rural women workers by voice mail and bulk SMS in Tamil language. By this project we would reach out nearly 20000 rural women of south tamilnadu where breast cancer occurrence is very severe now days. We would also use social networking like Face book to reach the college going girls.

Proper Information communication technology infrastructure yet to be fully exploited by the residents of Makueni County, the ministry of education has been on the forefront in the utilization of ICT in training especially in secondary schools thereby improving its usage. The main users of ICT services are youth and the salaried workers who use the internet enabled phones and modems. The county needs to improve in ICT training in order to take advantage of the available opportunities especially with the construction of Konza Technpolis City which is located in the county.

Uganda: Raising Voices of Communities in Albertine Graben

My proposed project aims at raising the voices of local communities in Block 1 (Exploration Area 1) of Uganda’s oil-rich Albertine Graben. We would like to mentor at least three youth citizen journalists from each of the nine sub-counties that border the block. Block 1, operated by French oil giant, Total, has 75 percent of the 3.5 billion barrels of oil discovered in Uganda. We would like to mentor them on a) how to collect vital information on community issues, concerns and grievances, b) how to use mobile internet and use mobile phones to disseminate such information to the local media, c)

Kenya: Tana River Civic Education Network

This is a project of Kenya Sustainable Health Aid (KESHA) working in Tana County in Kenya. The project will create a group page in the facebook social media i.e TANA RIVER CIVIC EDUCATION NETWORK. The project will training the youth on how to use internet mobile phones to the use the web page and invite many youth to the page. The page will be updating the members with information about governance and democracy issues affecting Tana County. Majority of them owns phones hence this project will improve their participation in governance and democracy, and hold their leaders accountable.

Namibia: The Community Information Centres

The project is about setting up of Community Information Centres (CICs) at Oshakati, Oshikango and Katutura for community Information and communications technology (ICT) training and income generation projects.The idea of setting up Community Information Centres (CICs) is to link Information Communication Technology (ICT) with HIV prevention and poverty eradication by attracting the public, especially people of 15-49 years age group, to these Centres with services such as ICT training, selling of recharge vouchers (or airtime) for cell phones, copying, typing, email and internet services.
