Nigeria: Grassroots Women's Tech Voice for Peace Building

The training of trainers workshop will focus on equipping indigenous women living in the front lines of conflicts (who are involved in peace efforts and or victims, survivors or witnesses) with digital knowledge and citizen media skills that will help them document and share their stories on and best practices in conflict resolution and peace building, with a global audience. These women are the most vulnerable in conflict situations and they lack time, skills and opportunities that will amplify the efforts they are making to promote love, dialogue, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.

Armenia: PlaceToSpeak – Voice of Armenian Refugees of Syria

The project is aimed to promote assistance to enforce social activism on a higher level among Syrian- Armenian repatriates and refugees of civil war, living in Armenia. We aim to help Syrian-Armenian refugees and the Armenians who remain in Syria to share the information about their life in new places or the current situation in the regions they have left in Syria through expert coaching and digital tools. USA: Soliya Online Public Squares

Public Squares are facilitated online group dialogues, initiated and designed by volunteer collaborators, in which participants from within and across cultural, geographic, and political communities engage with each other using a video-conference application to explore their perspectives, discuss important issues and, when appropriate, agree on a course of action. The project combines best practices from the field of conflict resolution and facilitation with innovative uses of new media technologies to promote actionable civic discourse around issues that threaten to fracture societies.

UAE: Zair, Zabar, Pesh

Zair, Zabar, Pesh is based on developing understanding and promoting tolerance between individuals, groups & communities of various faiths, cultures & race. At present we have one audio-visual project based on Stereotypes, which we shot in Dubai last year and is now in post-production. This will be put out in the form of webisodes and run alongside an online advocacy campaign. The latter is going to be a series of curated programs /workshops/exhibitions under the title of “SouthAsian Sandooq”, which will seek to not only celebrate our common heritage but also address issues & promote dialogue.

We wish to point out that we intend to develop the knowledge in ICT and media communication among the estate, Village youth community with live in Maskeliya, and Hatton areas of Ambagamuwa Korali of Nuwara-Eliya district. Through this programme the Management skills of youth could be developed. Their skills in Digital Video, Social Mapping etc will be disclosed through this process, 10 numbers youth groups will be mobilized by us in order to handle conflict Reconciliation strategies and address the social problem through Democratic process. There is no proper systematic video documentation.

DR of Congo: Faces and Voices of the DRC

The project will shed light on the under-represented stories of the DR Congo, those of hope, peace and strength. The campaign will use various forms of interactive media to change the prevailing narrative on Congo from the “heart of darkness” to one of hope and promise for the future. The project will be implemented firstly, via workshops, in partnership with Panzi Foundation DRC in Eastern Congo. Then, the project organizers will work with local women to accumulate media that highlights their strength and the promise of hope in Congo, to be shared in the digital world.

Colombia: Human Rights Memory

We´ve created a website and apps that integrate information of the memory of victims of cases of Human Rights violations of Latin America and Brazil.The contents are constructed jointly together with the affected ones and it´s shared in several languages and multimedia.As well the platform uses other interactive tools to share and integrate the information for human rights promotion and its activities.The proposal looks to get resources to develop on objects and handicraft items produced by victims with augmented reality codes to approach and address society and the stakeholders to the project

Brazil: History Manufacturers

this project is intended to enable people from the community of the Vazanteiros, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, to tell their story for the fist time. little is already known about them and most of this knowledge come from outsiders, such as scholars and all sorts of researchers, a knowledge that might not be very detached from their own interests. In this project we may teach this people to operate a photo camera, as well as basic exposure and composition notions, in order to get them to tell us, trough photography, what they really are, and what good theirs way of living does to the environment.

Kosovo: Same City, Different Stories

Sharing Realities/Story telling through photography – among various ethnic groups (Albanians, Serbs, RAE, Bosnians and Turks) living in Mitrovica (North and South) in Kosovo, which still remains the only divided and tensed city in Balkans. These stories will highlight what it takes to live in the same city but having and experiencing different lives imposed from the post conflict circumstances. We plan to implement a series of training sessions in order to train the participants on photography and blogging about sharing realities context and lastly publishing all the stories in an E-book.

Kenya: Do Not Buy Stolen Property – Kisumu City

“Do Not Buy Stolen Property” is a project that aim to use citizen media to promote good citizenship and personal responsibility by discouraging the residents of Kisumu City from buying stolen goods or goods from questionable sources. The overall objective of this campaign is to discourage the involvement of young people in crime by reducing the number of channels through which they can convert stolen goods into cash.
