Brazil: Youth the Margins of São Francisco River

The Youth Project Margins of the São Francisco River aims to enable young people to use social media, focusing on the production of a documentary. This in turn will meet the youth who live on the banks of the São Francisco River, their stories, problems and especially their life stories. The project will also promote the creation of various social media to encourage youth participation in decision facing the social, environmental and cultural issues of the São Francisco River.

Colombia: Getting to Know the Birds in My Region

This Project aims at encouraging students to develop research skills for protecting the environment through the observation of the local fauna. This will be done through bird watching field trips at non risk sites in which children will identify bird species and take pictures of them. Using the data collected by the students, educational materials will be produced by them such as posters, blogs and visual bird guides with information about the species found in the region. In addition, workshops will be carried out where biologist, community and students will share their knowledge about birds.

Togo: Fika'oleo

The project involves strengthening capacity and boosting the Togo OpenStreetMap community by advanced training on mapping OpenStreetMap and Quantum GIS. The goal is, through a program of activities aimed at the creation of the map of the University of Lomé and the production of useful information guides, provide to the OSM TG community an important background in the creation and use of free geographic data to demonstrate their usefulness and in turn promote the support of national and international community to OSM mappers in Togo.

Nigeria: Portable Water and Sanitation Against Cholera

My project would focus on a workshop to inform and re-orientate my community members on water and sanitation issues in order to help eliminate the recurring incidences of cholera and typhoid as a result of the unwholesome sources of water the community members fetch for domestic use in their homes. The need to change the already held erroneous impressions on health living and environmental issues would be changed after the workshop. participants that would be trained are going to be the real vanguard s of the change because convincing video and audio evidences would be used at the workshop.

Uganda: Increasing Aging Through a Healthy Environment

:The population health is being affected by degradation of which the people are not aware. There is high rate of trees cutting, wetland use, game parks encroachment, chemical deposition and nosy, smoky environment in the town slummy area.Bad effect are, poor rainfall leading to food insecurity, poverty, diseases, conflict and violence. Implementation in stages are; mobilizing 40 groups from the village farmers and town slums, training on digital story telling skills to widening their problem visibility, digital video story recording, editing,translation and distribution on face book twitter.

Nigeria: University of Ibadan Campus Environmental Discourse

At the University of Ibadan (UI) located in the south-west part of Nigeria, the environment is changing due to climate change. The perceived changes and the response of the authorities are sometimes not aligned with the expectations of the residents. There are two broad categories of residents: students who live in the hostels and staff who live in residential quarters. This work is intended to create a voice for the community online using a combination of social media tools. The content created is expected to influence the authorities decisions as regards the management of the environment.
