Macedonia: No for Underage Marriages Among Roma

Children give birth children. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness among young Roma population and their parents and once again reminded their children should not go a married too early, on 12, 13, 14 years old. This project will be a multimedia project by non-profit organization NGO “ZZPD. This NGO's work is dedicated to Roma young people up to 15 years old. Anyway the world has a problem with excess population, especially in poor areas. Will be a opportunity for Roma by training them to use media tools to tell their stories, and establish better communicati. with other ethnicity

Honduras: Knowing Our Ethnic Indigenous Groups

The project is an initiative by students in San Pedro Sula to present the realities of various indigenous groups through an ethnographic study. These groups are often marginalized and ostracized from society. By creating awareness of these problems we are one step closer to resolving them. I had previously given cinematographic tutorials in Honduras with the director of the project through the organization OYE Adelante Jovenes. I plan to use the money to produce this project and provide equipment. Unfortunately, the crowd-funding campaign we initiated only achieved 190$ of it's goal.

Kazakhstan: Searching for the 100 – Seeing Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan's multicultural & multinational citizenry is a legacy of Soviet social engineering activities. Yet, beyond the majority nationalities, i.e., the Kazakhs and Russians (76% of the population), many of these minorities have little public visibility. This project aims to begin documenting the lived experiences of some of these minority populations (e.g., Dungans, Uighurs, and Koreans). We will assemble collections of shared stories which will be both published & documented via video in order to produce a documentary about people's lives amidst social change in post-Soviet Kazakhstan.

Philippines: Changing the World Through Values Education

Values Education is a process by which we can transmit positive values to other people. Positive values begets positive actions and this is what we need to change the world. Changing the World Through Values Education is aimed to train Values Educators in the Philippines. Abraham Lincoln said, “If I have six hours to chop a tree, I would spend the first four hours to sharpen the axe.” Hence, this project will help Values educators to better transform Filipino students and other Filipinos in the community as well by giving them the right tools in teaching.

Romania: Visualising Roma women’s voices in Romania

The purpose of this citizen media project is to make visible Roma women’s voices in the online environment through digital story telling. After being provided training on digital photography, Roma women from Tg Frumos will be given the tools and the support to self-document their lives behind the households’ fences. Together with young people, Roma women will be protagonists and narrators of the digital stories the project will generate and widely distribute. A blog reflecting the dynamics of the process of implementing it will be another media endeavor to widely spread Roma citizens’ voices.

This project aims through practical workshops in radio, audio editing, podcast and use of the voice as an instrument of communication, the Maroons can make use of the radio to go beyond just the use of communication tools with digital interface area and computer network, help people to approach and access databases and information repositories, breaking boundaries and barriers of time and space.

Bosnia Herzegovina: The Other Side of the Story – Roma Population

Roma in BiH are the most numerous minority group. The exact number of Roma is not known. The Kakanj municipality today is one with the highest Roma population, but they are not represented in media. Our NGO is the owner of web portal called Kaportal.ba. We want to buil a series of stories about Roma population in our city: 10 articles and media campaign called The other side of the story: Roma population, to unbias comunity about Roma population.

United Kingdom: Transnational Palestinian Hip-Hop

This research will explore the development of a transnational Palestinian identity through the medium of contemporary Palestinian music, with particular focus on the Palestinian diaspora. Exploration of this identity will determine whether this transnational identity can impact Israel's relations with the Palestinians and nations in which Palestinians currently reside.

Macedonia: Media Literacy for Roma Youth

This project aims at training young ROMA from the Tetova region on online media literacy through which will be able to express their culture,their struggles,their identity and the discrimination that they face. Additionally, the project will try to portray the future of ROMA, the way they see it not the way that it is tried to be imposed by other communities;the social inclusion process from the perception of ROMA themselves in terms of how they want other communities to include them and not to force them into integrating; build communication links between young ROMA and the rest of the youth.
