Cameroon: Participatory Video for Information-Sharing Between Indigenous Communities
This project will train 12 Baka and Bagyeli indigenous community members to use digital video to share information between far flung, difficult to access villages regarding the impacts of a major new mine and railway project in their home territory. The project will result in the production and circulation of short films that will educate community members about issues such as water toxicity. The circulation of videos online and through a traveling cinema will facilitate inter-community communication and cooperation around issues generated by the mine project.
Indonesia: The Fall of Our Local Food Sovereignty
Papuans traditionally consume sago, bananas, and a variety of tuber, all part of their staple food. However, the traditional staple food is threatened by homogenization of food programs or the rice program. People have changed from a variety of food producers to become consumers of rice. As a result, food security is threatened. An effective strategy would be to visualize the erosion of the local food systems in the form of short films. They will also be trained to produce films themselves and to present the results to local officials. The films will also be uploaded in various social media.

Nigeria: Improved Telecommunication and ICT Networks in Onicha-Olona
Onicha-Olona is a community in Nigeria with very poor network coverage for both telecommunication and ICT. I desire a better representation for the indigenes so that their voices will be heard, communicate more with their relations in urban areas and overseas, and share their culture and challenges (electricity and water supply) to the world. I intend to create computer literacy/usage among the indigenes especially the youths; then liaise with the network providers to improve their service delivery to the region where the community falls.
