Budget is the most important economic instrument of any Nation. It translates policies, political commitments and the Nations socio-economic priorities into expenditure and taxation. Sadly, in Nigeria, in spite of the efforts of CSOs intervention efforts, most States budget are still shrouded with secrecy, lack of transparency and weak budget systems.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
This project aims at increasing citizen’s participation on public budget advocacy, monitoring and analysis. The selected participants will be trained on the use of citizen media tools such as Blogs, twitter and podcast to educate people on budget issues
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
That the proposed participants will be members of Civil Society Organizations that are experts on budget issues will be an indisputable fact for the success of this project.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
25 members (5 members from each state) will be trained. Their participation will be sustained by on-going monitoring and evaluation, mentoring and peer review meetings.
