To heighten the awareness of the general population about the issue of child safety by utilizing social media, photography, poster creations, video presentations and docudramas. Ten (10) adults which will include teachers and parents and 60 children between the ages of 10 and 14 will be trained to use these tools to advocate for Child Safety.

The city of Kingston is where the project will take place in 12 primary schools.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The citizen media output that wil be created are posters, brochures, video presentations, docudramas and photographs. Also a facebook page and a webpage will be creatd to give information and to network with other individuals and organizations.

The Safe Kids project has already established relationships with 12 schools and have began by having workshops with parents, teachers and classroom sessions with students. The project has also created a facilitators manual for training purposes. The project will establish future partnerships with other organizations both governmental and non governmental to foster a multisectorial response to child safety.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
70 participants will be trained in the project. The interest will be sustained as the programme will be done with parents , students and tachers who have already been exposed to the project.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Techical support and equipment to assist with the training and subsequent continuation of the project. We will need some assistance with the creation of the website , one laptop, a projector and a screen for the training. We will need to train our participants how to maintain the website.,
