This project is designed to train rural youth about Social Media & Networking. Participants from different regions of Nepal will have opportunities to share their experiences and knowledge about environmental issues via social media. Blog competition among the trainee will encourage rural youth to use the online platform, the best blog will be selected as the project blog which will be equipped with the information shared by rural & urban youth.

Blogs, Facebook accounts/groups/pages/events, Twitter accounts, YouTube accounts, Flickr accounts, etc will be created and operationalized as the project output. Periodic E-Newsletters will be published during the project period.

This project will be the extension form of the pilot project that is expected to be awarded by the Youth Action Fund. In that project I will train youth from three districts in using social media for environment conservation. Read Nepal with its decentralized and well equipped resource center will be providing the platform for the training.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
Approximately 150 youth will be trained directly but the trainees are expected to share their learning in their youth organizations and clubs which will benefit around 3000 youth. Those organizations which are working but don't have human resource to promote their work will be approached, as it is obvious that everyone is in need of getting attention of a huge mass they will grab this opportunity.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
To link the dedicated blog of the project with the website of Rising Voices and circulate the E-Newsletters in its networks. So that it helps to bridge the gap between rural and urban youth as well as the voices of rural youth will be heard in global level.
