Nigeria: The Voices

The Voices is a LGBT citizens’ media training initiative with a focus on social media and social change in fostering visibility and advocacy for LGBT rights in Nigeria. It aims to create visibility for the LGBT community through the use of social media, digital photography and blogs for objective reporting on issues of sexual diversity and human rights in Nigeria. The project will conduct 3 day workshop, set up a website for sustainability.

Indonesia: Making LGBT Voice Heard

This project is part of Our Voice (OV) program on promoting LGBT rights in Indonesia through online media. Using rights-based approach, the project will train 30 groups LGBT in Jakarta on journalism. Participants will write about their struggles, thoughts, hopes & dreams, and then we publish them on our website, internet and social network. It is expected that their stories will be used to fight the stigma against LGBT in mainstream media.

Indonesia: Stand Up for Muslim Transgender

This project wants to train transgender people who join in Muslim transgender community to use digital media to gain awareness that you could be transgender and serve Allah (God). It enables them to create blogs and short documentary about how they practice Islam as a transgender and how they experience and tackle negative stereotypes from Muslim neighborhood. It is expected to leverage understanding that being LGBTQ is compatible with Islam

Nepal: Empower

The project intends to reduce stigma and discrimination amongst LGBTI in far western Nepal by providing technical support from Blue Diamond Society so that they could fight for the rights and have inclusive status in the region.
