The project consists of a training program for Union leaders in order to enable them to become a network link in theri community to alert authorities on issues regarding health, safety and security issues. The network should function on an online platform where union members would have access to input information and alerts so they can activate our quick response systems throughout the country.

specific population are union members disseminated in 17 Departments throuout the country. The total membership of the health workers union is 17,000. These links are union leaders, men and women who play an important role in servicing their community through their work as nurses, lab technitians, messengers, etc. The work for the public health system, but are in constant risk as union leaders are constantly being attacked or killed.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The platform will be a means to alert human rights institutions, and organizations on human rights violations againts union and community leaders in order to activate a network of quick response. When there is no threat the union members will post stories and news regardgin health issues and the general situation of the health system. Also this platform can be handy in disaster response, since our country is prone to natural disasters.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

Our organization (health worker's union) has a constituency of around 17000 union members. All of which are organized and located in local representations in hospitals, health care centers and emergency posts. The network exists and all that is needed is training, some technical assets (computers) and access to the internet.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
At least 60 participants, men and women. Part of the project aims to train participants so that they can operate as links to the Alert Network without the need for extra pay, since they are already health workers. Their work in the future will be voluntary although during the training period they will recieve travel expenses and training material as well as a computer in those areas where deemed absolutely necesasary.
