Childhood Enhancement through Training and Action (CHETNA) is working for empowerment of Street and Working Children in India. These children are living in very difficult situations and their voices are seldom overlooked by people around. A negative perception is made in the mind sets of local people. These children have immense potential and skills that if showed/shared using film or Radio will help change perception of common people.

Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
CHETNA is already experienced in making radio programs and small participatory film with children. We have good networking with National Radio, and have team in place. Regarding making film, we have trained youths who can make these films.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We can make around 13 episodes if we get USD 4000. Each episode will give opportunity to around 8-10 children to share their voice. The anchor of the programs also will be children. Hence in total around 100-130 children will be trained by the end of the project.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We are working with assistance of some of very known donors like Plan International. In the past also, they have supported for making radio programs. In India, for radio programs you can also get sponsors. Till date we were not allowed to engage commercial sponsors, but if microgrant gives this opportunity, we can have sponsor in place. These sponsors can be computer companies, stationers etc
