Proposals Women's Rights
Human rights defenders (HRDs) already engaged in monitoring violations of rights of women belonging to adivasis, dalits and minority communities in Odisha will be trained to use mobiles handsets to take photographs, record oral statements of victims and others, keep the data in a computer at a safe place, transfer it to concerned bodies for filing complaints to human rights commissions to ensure justice to victims. One Training will be organized to capacitate 30 HRDs of Odisha. 5 HRDs will be provided with necessary hand-holding supports to monitor women rights violations in a better manner.
After the Kenya General elections in March 2013, Kenya will have the first government under the new constitution. Women need to be educated on the opportunities and benefits that come with the new system of governance. This will change the daily activities of the maasai woman. Women will be encouraged to tap the opportunities available to better their lives. This project seeks to give women a voice amidst a culture that dictates for a society ruled by men making women the subject. It will also highlight their socioeconomic needs and share it will the world in a bid to create possible solutions
“One out of three women will experience Violence in her life time”! Women around the world are subjected to violence in many forms that has reduced opportunities for women to compete favorably at all levels. These forms of violence include human trafficking, sexual violence and harmful traditional practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The more violence against women continues, the more their rights are restricted. The project is meant to enlighten and awaken this group to acquire skills on how to document women’s issues and support women rights activism in our society.
This project will be implemented at Unioun Council(UC) Lamnian,district Hattian,AJ&K.Ther total 80 community activists will be trained in the field of Gender main streaming and women empowerment.They will be sensitized that why the participation of the women in development is most important and we can not ensure the real development in the region with out the active and productive participation of the women in all fields of the development.
It will train a group of 30 women to develop a public platform through interactive maps, using tools like google earth and google maps. This will share data, pictures and information about places where there have been disappearances of women and femicide according to news reports and local information, which will help to raise awareness of violence in the State of Mexico and for the government to guarantee the rights of women.
This project aims to equip survivors of trafficking with knowledge and skills of story gathering. 10 women will be trained on interview skills, recorder handling, audio editing and digital photography. They will produce a weekly radio show broadcast through local radio. We believe that empowering women with skills to interview will not only help raise their voice but also help them rise in their community where they are stigmatized and excluded.
