How to start processes of community empowerment and sustainable territorial development with young people? This is the challenge that the multipliers that operate in the neighborhood of Lemon chose to devote since 2011. By training young people in citizen journalism will create a blog and video to discuss sustainable solutions for self-management of housing.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Since 2011 the group Cell Transformation conducts workshops focused on sustainability with the local youth population. Through workshops educommunication young people can disseminate sustainable practices for the local population in a blog, a book and a digital video. We believe that through the empowerment and leadership of the community can self-management of housing.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
Connections will be made between the public and the the young adult audience. Will be offered an exchange of practical experiences in sustainability among both existing housing and slum next. Will approach the existing projects in the region such as Vila Create and Northeastern Traditions Center.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
A total of 15 youth have been trained in citizenship journalism, video for web, blog and networks, digital books, social theatre, participatory researh and mapping. This group will reach atleast 600 people indirectly.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Rising Voices can contribute with training, an exchange or interview with the Células de Transformação team and by connecting us with other projects and networks. Equipment would be wonderful too, as it could be shared with other groups in the region.
