The artists will work with indigenous peoples and other men and women (of indigenous origin) showing interest in the production and dissemination of “indigenous contemporary art.” We believe this initiative will mark a new milestone in the network, and in the city of Lima, because there are places that are rarely or little known that are dedicated to the expression of contemporary indigenous culture in cities, and which also respect uniqueness.

The content will always seek to encourage dialogue, exchange, and understanding of aesthetic pursuits through reflection and analysis of “expressions of indigenous contemporary art.” The content is produced artists (through the exhibition of his works and projects) as well as through information and products, as interviews, news, editorials and other new forms of digital expression. The website will feature editorial curators and critics.

The promoting group has direct communication with regional and national indigenous organizations in Peru such as CARE, FENAMAD, ASHIRELV, AIDESEP, among others. It is also expected to have the support of schools and contemporary art galleries, public and private universities, organizations and national and international institutions related to contemporary indigenous art, and public institutions. We have the support of kolekt in Paris.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
In the span of 12 months, we look forward to the continued participation of at least 15 participants (between individual artists and groups) who will be invited, through a public call, to be trained according to their availability of time and stay in Lima. Each training day will be personalized and each participant will be provided follow-up and monitoring, setting goals based on their progress and capabilities.
