During the colonial rule Busoga kingdom used to get orders from Buganda kingdom and due to language barrier they could make mistakes during execution of the orders, after the mistakes the Basoga people were continuously abused and they were psychologically tortured which resulted into inferiority complex and the Basoga abandoned their language and resorted to Luganda and English.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
According to Uganda bureau of statistics Busoga is counted as one of the poorest regions in the country. Observation too shows that Busoga is badly off in terms of standards of living.
Lack of Political Awareness: This a necessary attribute to development. We need to know who our leaders are. The project will give our leaders a forum to address the issues that afflict our people. We must hold them accountable for solving the problems our people
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The project will setup internet kiosks through which we will train the local men and women (both elderly and young) on how to use digital media to develop a blog, video documentaries, take photos, and write articles and journals and news updates on current topical issues within their community and cultural sites. They will create awareness on problematic issues such as poor roads, access to safe water, sustainable energy, and food security amongs
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
We have a strong partnership with Basoga people, mwino group is a provincial alliance of low income member organizations and Busoga region has already identified us in the communities we want to conduct our trainings and establish our the internet kiosks.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We will train 25 to 50 from 5 villages. These local people will run and manage the portal and kiosks that are established by this project. They will be the direct beneficiaries as the kiosks will serve the whole community and the neighboring communities. A certain affordable service fee will be collected to maintain the electricity and internet service fee.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
I want to support in the ways of organizing the project and find out ways of measuring the results of training participants and how to create a network of all trainees to share their experiences.
