It will help to train PWDs i.e. Women and girls on how to advocate for their rights in the Health and Education Sector and on the challenges they face through public dialogues, how to use the internet to seek audience and also bring out their views in News papers. And in the end they will be able to come out to stand for their rights through Public Community Awareness.

What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Luwero (Bamunanika) and Wakiso (Nangabo)
Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
PWDs in Luwero and Wakiso have limited or no platform, are judged by sociality, having sex by force but not by choice and live with people who look them as a loss and this is never reported in the media. They will be helped to speak and collectively air out their challenges concerning disability through training them in Public dialogue and on line communication services. The project targets 300 Disabled women and girls between 10 – 35.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Having an empowered PWD community with ability and skills to speak out on their rights using all sorts of media available. Women with disability’s Life experiences, Messages calling for Government intervention, advocating for their rights, Sex by choice and will but not by chance, testimonies on the different hardships they pass through, Living examples of prominent Disabled Women in Organizations and Government and Existing opportunities too.

Escew has already made partnership with both Local and International organizations. Our International partners include; stichting face aid in Netherlands, and our Local partners include; local authorities, Nangabo parents association of children with disabilities. The Uganda Police and Local Community Leaders.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We shall engage 300 participants between 10 – 35 years in Bamunanika Sub County in Luwero district and Nangabo sub-counties in Wakiso. We have already gained their support through the different activities and programmes we have carried out with them. They were also involved in the development of this idea.
We are also supported by the community and the Local leaders to who have always engaged in Identifying and mobilization.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We also seek for support from Rising Voices in capacity building, IEC materials, providing us with an International platform, and even connections with other organizations to improve our funding to challenge other challenging issues affecting disabled woman.
