The project will offer practical training to 20 chapter leaders of Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association (UWEAL) limited in the use of multimedia to share business stories of their members with the rest of the women in Uganda. In particular they will learn how to make and upload digital stories (photo, video, text and audio). They will practice how to interact online.

The twenty chapter leaders represent the over 1000 business women in Uganda. They have access to computers and internet, smart phones which they can use to rely information. During their annual meeting they have expressed the need to share experiences. Although they were also advocating for physical visits, using ICT will break that distance between them. At the moment they only meet once a year.

All these will be disseminated at the Uganda Women entrepreneurs Association Limited Facebook and website that will be linked to the chapter sites that will be created.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

I am the chairperson of the Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association limited and we already have the women organized in chapters www.uweal.co.ug. Braintrust resource clinic has dedicated professions for training and improving competences of people. Uganda women entrepreneurs has the desire to train its members into the use of ICT to improve the visibility of their business, network and share stories.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
20 members. These are already chapter leaders who have been yearning for this training. At the secretariat there is an officer in charge of membership who keeps all members informed of what is going on through email and sms. This time the communication will be enhanced and moderated through a social media platform.
Describe which technologies, tools, and media you will focus on when training participants.
The training will make use of computers with internet supported by a digital camera. I am a Doctor of ICT in education and the two engineers have expertise and experience in the use of ICT to support communication and learning. The use of smart phones will be encouraged because they are individualized and will promote instant communication.
Describe the facilities where you will hold the workshops.
The training will take place at the office of the Uganda women entrepreneurs association limited resource center which has at least 10 computers and wireless internet. The leaders will be encouraged to come with their own computers.

What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
The cost of running the project is high however we shall use cost sharing for the participants.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
1. The number of participants who complete the training and do all the assignments
2. The number and level of interaction between the leaders
3. The number of women from the different chapters that will be interacting as a result of their leader serving as a trainer of trainers.
4. Interaction of the different chapters in our social media platform.
