Mekong ICT Camp: A biannual training workshop on ICT for citizen media, community health, and civil society development in Mekong sub-region. We have committed to the ICT capacity development for the talents and organizations in the sub-region to make sure the sub-region's abilities are kept abreast with other parts of the world and can serve for the collective objectives for social development from the NGO and nonprofit sector as a whole.

Describe the specific community with whom you will be working.
Mekong Sub-region Network for ICT Capacity Development for citizen media, NGOs and other influential stakeholders in Mekong sub-region which includes Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Yunnan and Thailand. In these countries people's rights to development have still been relatively scarce. Where civil society can share the information and experience in respective countries and conduct joint consultation for the problems at stake.
What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
After the camp, Report Testimony, Camp Report and its evaluation along with Camper Profile will be produced. The participants; from new acquired knowledge shall produce and share presentations, videos of news and information, articles on blogs and websites and this kind of training and workshop in other countries in Mekong sub-region for capacity development of those in grassroots organizations.

Thai Fund Foundation together with Opendream, Thai Netizen Network and Frontier Foundation co-organize the workshop. We do have few sponsors (up till date) Open Society Institute and Friedrich Naumann Foundation. We are working on getting more sponsors as there are still many expenses left to be covered for Mekong ICT Camp 2013.

60Participants from Mekong sub-region.The content highlights on4major issues:E-Management-Management of Organizations and Information,E-Advocacy-Electronic Advocacy and Social Media Strategies,E-Infrastructure-Informatics Infrastructure for Social Development,Open Participation Paradigm-Free Software,Creative Commons and Read/Write Culture. Further divided into3tracks:Natural Disaster and Management,Info-Activism,ICT for Community Development.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
Besides the micro-grant funding we would appreciate publication of our event to your community partners /organizations from the Mekong region, Southeast Asia and all around the world to join our camp for participation, and also spreading the word about the camp in order to help us attract expert resource person as speakers and organizations that would like to sponsor our Camp.
