The project will seek to train 2 visual art teachers and 6 students in the use of digital photo to promote the artist’s young generation visibility. The professional photographer will train in photography’s shooting and editing 2 teachers which will be trainer in the new Apply Art School opening next year. Together, they will organize a photography training workshop for 6 visual art students and organize a traveling exhibition.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The 6 students will share 6 stories of others students from the visual art, the music and the circus school. They will work as photojournalist after get trained from the professional photographer and the 2 new formed trainers. They will show day life of 6 young Cambodian artists through photography and their own work (painting or drawing). 12 images will be edited by the 2 trainers and shared through an international travelling exhibition.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

An existing partnership between the photographer and Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS) will be extended to run these trainings and workshop.
PPS has an exhibition room in Battambang and in Phnom Penh where the exhibition will be shown. Moreover, the circus school from Phare Ponleu Selpak works in partnership with a French association CCCAI. Each year, they organize circus tour in Europe and Asia. The exhibition will follow tours for the next two years.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The photographer will train 2 trainers for 5 days. Then, together they will train 6 students in photography and organize an exhibition. Early 2014, the project will be taken over by PPS and the Apply Art School. There, students will learn graphic design, illustration, animation, painting and a new topic which is photography. The school will get 2 professional camera bought for the rising voice project.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
PPS will provide venues such as a class room and two galleries for the workshop and the 2 exhibitions. PPS will also provide materials such as computers, projectors, printers and an internet connection during the training. For the travelling exhibition, CCCAI will provide all the support needed in foreign countries as usual. Then, the two trainees will be trainers in the Apply Art School, a project already funded.
