Arts against social injustice and youth related violence is a practically achievable project, it will be implemented by Arts for Change, we hope to see an increased number of youth reached and empowered with skills of using internet and computer, artstic presentations will be be shared on-line using Facebook, twitter and other blogs, besides the project looks forward to strengthen the youth networking system through active participation in artistic, discussions, dialogues and cultural interaction that can yield a positve change. We intend to reach out to youth with what they like i.e arts

Less served youth in slums and underprevilleged communities with very little knowledge of ICT, Youths who wish to serve and extend the use of Arts including visual arts, acrobatics, performing arts among others to fight social injustce and youth related violence, in the bid to attain a massive results they need a global media system which they are currently missing. Thus theirefforts to impact other youths countrywide and worldwide is challenged with limitted access to computer and internet

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
Because we focus our efforts to the elimination of youth related violence, we shall create stories in line with;
1. Mob-Justices and how best youths can address their concerns to the public through dialoguing than mob-justice
2. Drug abuse and gambling-In our community this is one of the most rapid growing problem, which we need to address through writing stories and news about them
3. Idleness and youth unemployment- Idleness is an effect of unemployment and its effects to the youth are diverse, ranging from poverty, gambling, stealing and other social-economic vices
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established or plan to establish that will contribute to the success of the project.
We have over 5 youth clubs runing in our catchment area, each club was formed by 15-25 members who are reached on various days of the week, They are reached by a permanent group of 15 youth from Arts for Change whose moto is ARTS can SPEAK it All. In an interactive artstic manner, we start sessions by dancing off the pains of the youth, some do poetry of their pains and others express them through songs; Besides, we incoperate youth debates, dialogues and discussions on several topics that are expressed in the dances, songs, poems, acrobatics and that might be sketched on a paper.
How many participants do you think will be trained in your project?
In case we get the funding, we intend to come up with 15 more youth clubs of 20-25 members. this will give us a total of 500 youths to be trained.
Besides our campaigns will include staging performance in relation to the topics we discuss or dialogue about. these will teach and train the general public about the stories and topics we share in small groups

The trainings will be community based, becasue of the need to minimise operational costs, we intend to use some community resouces in order to excute the training.
Community centres for youths will be used, they have power access but most of them dont have internet installations. We intend to use USB Modems
What is your current relationship with the community with whom you plan to work? What makes you the most appropriate individual or organization to implement this project?
We have already establsihed youth centres where youths are reached, we have engaged some youth in vocational and hand on skill trainings and this has built a trusting relationship between us and them.
Our organisation is a community based organisation that clearly understands and know the problems of the community, its youth led and actively involves the people who are served.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
Very huge numbers of youth interested in the training exceeding the number budgeted for and this will be budget constraining.
Security wise, we shall be safe, our organisation is registered and all activities done are legalised by the Republic of Uganda.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
we shall develop M&E tools that will be filled after every club's training sessions
All clubs will be put under a uniform leadership of Team leaders who will write activity reports per day and these will be submitted to the clubs supervisor who will then hand them over to the project coordinator who will make final reports and evalution of the program.
We shall also open a social link where we recieve feedback from the trainees to understand how best we can improve this training day after the other. All participants will register their Names, communities, sex, contacts, email adress if any, a signature for proper accountabilty,
If your project were to be selected as a Rising Voices grantee, what would be the general timeline of project activities in 2014?
the geral time line will be bewteen 6 to 8 months where the first two months will be entirely for mapping, planing, empowering the permanent volnteering youth team that will reach out and train other youths.
1 month will be spent on group/club formation and electing the club leadership
