Uganda: Raising Voices for Vunerable and Orphaned People

Given the fact that most people especially in Africa is your note in the leading part of the government, their views are not heard off and they end up suffering i believe through this funding the people of the low status like the orphans, widows, street children, mentally affected, disabled persons, those affected by the war shall be able to raise their in terms of decision making that affects their lives positively in different aspects of life like economic, social, physical among others and this is because we are all equal given that fact circumstances contribute to their neglect.

India: Information Exchange for Farmers on Climate Resilient Agriculture

Nearly 70% of West Bengal’s population are villagers where every third person is poor; 70% of them are depends on Agriculture. Climate change has increased vulnerability of the populations with negative impact on Agriculture Production and yield quality. Disasters, like increase of cyclonic events and storm surges and make the state vulnerable. About 42% of the state area is flood prone and and many parts of State suffer water shortage and drought. The impact is creating food insecurity and hunger. Proposed project will inform and capacitate farmers on climate smart and indigenous farming.

Paraguay: Data Journalist in Paraguay

Journalists trained on issues of privacy and data journalism. An intensive workshop two days (8 and 9 May) with international experts in journalism and data privacy. (marathon) 30 journalists, 12 programmers, and other disciplines will learn how to use Internet tools, how to create tools to collect data, how to mostras information to the general public. The hackathon is to develop a participatory tool of open data, a prototype data journalism in Paraguay, and a workshop on digital rights. (Internet security, surveillance)

Serbia: My Story – Overcoming Challenges

The FirstNation project I'm proposing is to train !Xun and Khwe community citizen journalists in blogging, YouTube and social media tools. We aim to empower the !Xun and Khwe community with digital storytelling skills so that they can tell the world about their remarkable journey

Kenya: Group Chatting

Since 2010, Kenya took the route of devolved governance which has since been offering governance of the country at two levels; the national and county governments. Devolution has brought services and governance closer to the people but the people still know very little about it. We are taking advantage of the Devolved set up of Counties as our Main Organizing system of our Group Chatting for the people to educate themselves. We will then use the existing Youth, Women and People Living with Disabilities Groups, to start on-line discussions through the web.

Netherlands: A Day in Her Life

A Day in Her Life will be a multimedia project by non-profit organization Voices of Women Media. The project seeks to empower women working in Amsterdam’s Red Light District by training them to use media tools to tell their stories. We want to provide an opportunity for participants to have a voice and express themselves in a creative way. Participants will create a multimedia body of work that they themselves will disseminate in their communities to raise awareness, thereby developing advocacy skills and challenging mainstream stereotypes and stigmas surrounding the sex industry.

India: Project Teen Talk

Namakkal District in Tamilnadu,India with a population over 1.7 million is the worst hit of HIV/AIDS both by its prevalence and impact. Though, the teenagers have awareness on HIV/AIDS-they have limited skills to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS. They lack of knowledge of Sexually Infected Diseases.The knowledge on these vital issues are neither taught in education nor by the family members.The only get few information by their peers which are also myths.We propose to give away the scientific information through the social media, info on treatment centres support and follow up with couselling.
