Njeri Wangarĩ is an acclaimed Kenyan poet, writer, editor, and communications consultant whose work and interest lie at the intersection of technology with history, culture, media and society in Africa.
With a multi-faceted career spanning over 15 years as a spoken word artist and poet, Njeri has published a first book Mines & Mind fields; My Spoken Words. The collection of poems written in English, Kiswahili and her native language Gĩkũyũ/ Kikuyu explore themes such as identity, social economy, culture, language and history. She is passionate about African languages and challenging conventional wisdom about the continent. Her work has appeared in numerous regional and global publications and her performances have graced stages across 4 continents.
Njeri recently ventured into children's writing and has been experimenting with verse and prose writing biography and historical-based fictional stories in Gĩkũyũ/Kikuyu and English
