Uganda: Sharing Our World

  March 3, 2013

The project is aimed at empowering young people with ICT skills to enable them share their stories and raise awareness about issues that affect them on a daily basis to a wider community. They will also be trained on how to write compelling stories that can be used to advocate for change. The project aims at training 30 young people in Kawempe who will eventually be part of the implementing team. A group of youth advocates will also be formed.

USA: Cahuilla Language Revitalization Project

With only two fluent speakers of the critically endangered Cahuilla language remaining, this project is aimed at increasing awareness and interest of the target language in the community which we hope will eventually lead to the restoration of intergenerational language transmission. We hope to accomplish this through the creation of an online radio program and youtube videos which will be shared on our website and various social media outlets.

Ghana: Students’ Morale Boasting Through Storytelling

Students’ team spirit is key in their success. The main purpose of this project will be to better the morale of students through real life story telling. At the end of the project, the target group should be able to know how to create a group blog to take their conversation to the wider community, attract notice and impress others, and expand their network. These will be accomplished through workshops as well ongoing support and mentoring

The Children's Voice newspaper will work as a platform where children from different categories will come up and express their opinion, thoughts and express their views, share information and get informed in a constructive and developing way. The newspaper will be stories of children as well as sharing their interests with other children. We are aiming at conscentizing the Law and policy-makers, to understand the views of the children.

Chile: Mapugundun – Bringing Ancient History To Life

The main goal of the the project is to promote the preservation and revitalization of the Mapuche language ‘Mapudungun’, targeting the Mapuche communities living in Chile and worldwide, and to raise awareness among Chileans about this ancient language. This project will assist the Mapuche communities in their effort to protect, preserve and assure the continued vitality of their linguistic and cultural heritage.

Philippines: Singing Our Way To Your Hearts

The project involves forming a group of marginalised IP children and youth and training them to promote and preserve their native culture. The project will facilitate the production of online content that will be shared to a broader audience using citizen media tools. The project will also contribute to the scaling up of the initiative with the women (mothers) thereby further strengthening its impact and maximising resources for optimum results.
