The project will provide a unique opportunity for rural women in Lugeye to be trained in journalism and photography to empower them collect data about issues of developmental importance to be documented and be shared with other women in the world. This will open voices of women in Lugeye community to be aired out and their felt needs brought to the information of women in other areas to be advised on how to solve them.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The project shall give women a unique voice to circulate events, issues and current news through the use of digital videos to express the feelings of the women in Lugeye community. This will enable women from other parts to know issues that affect women development in this community which include abject poverty, HIV/AIDS, land degradation, lack of safe sources of water, lack of food security and escalating domestic violence and women rights abuse

Lugeye women are connected to internet e-mail. We are seeking for partnership with the Swiss League for Catholic Women whom we are lobbying to fund a project to train women in nutritional feeding and growing nutritional foods.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We shall select 20 participants to be trained in digital video and photography skills. The training will be sustained by the grant to be provided by Rising Voices.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We need the funding resources information so that we can seek for funding to design and administer a website, purchase 2 more computers, and meet the costs of covering news from the community and post it on the blogs and other media channels.
