The rhino, an endangered species in Kenya and the world for the value of its horn and the elephant's ivory tusk. In the savanna, and along the forests, game reserves and national parks the Morans and communities benefits largely from the environment, though under represented online. This project seek to target 2000 of these people directly or indirectly to use mobile phones for photos, text, facebook, twitter, and work with local administration, forest and wildlife services and the global community to raise voices, save rhinos, elephants from extinction and conserve our environment.
What locality or neighborhood will your project focus on?
Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
Hundred of thousands of people live along Kenya's Masai Mara, Tsavo, Amboseli and Nairobi national parks where hundreds of rhinos and elephants are killed annually. Due to poor communications, they cannot be heard and their helping hand is silenced. Through consultations, and one on one talk, many have expressed their fears of livelihood if rhinos and elephants got extinct while as well seeking that their cries be heard. Due to this interest, we are obliged to work with them in this project. Most of the first hand data given in this proposal was presented by our potential beneficiaries. Though most of them have mobile phones and other devices, their levels of familiarity and Participation in the internet, social media and networking is low and demanding.

This is the community that we work with in various other projects. Their online empowerment and active participation will enhance even our efficiency And the way they receive our programmes. With previous and current acquisitions, this project will receive the highest impact and long-term benefits. This project will open ways for this community to serve as resource persons for the eradication of Rhinos horn and ivory trade.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
Ivory and rhinos horn trade as well as poaching is an illegal trade which is driven by powerful guerrillas whose operations can be termed as largely unpredictable. However, by using our organization which is a legal entity that is protected by the law.
Reaching and targeting the right people as beneficiaries for this project could be a challenge. But working with local administrators will open ways for the right people.
