Young people are full of optimism and they easily take advantage of opportunities and information that are availed to them.The challenge remains finding avenues where they can access such platforms. GHETTO POTENTIAL TRUST KENYA works to create a four day seminar dubbed Click the World, a concept that brings together thirty five young people from seven slums within Nairobi. The emphasis of this project is to expose the positive side of informal settlements. The youth will be introduced to simple writing skills and online reporting.

Yemen: Yemeni Women Storyteller

Yemeni Storyteller Organization(YSTR,) is the name of my project. It aims to invest in women's minds, through books. It encourages women to write stories ( about their life or others’ life). The goals are: – QUID women to write stories that documented (their life or other women's daily life) in Yemeni society. – ENCOURAGE them to talk about their problems, their dreams, their hopes, and their disappoint. – LEARN women to criticize the wrong behavior and bad treatment they face in the society. Those stories would be first step calling for justice and equality.

Nepal: Saving Indigenous Voices

The project seeks to document the indigenous folklores of Eastern Nepal which is on the verge of extinction. The project will search and document the folklores, meeting with the original artists who are approaching their seventies and eighties and the tradition seems to be extinct after their death. The folklores like Birhain, Chachair, Parati which are sung at a particular time of the day will be recorded in SounCloud and disseminated widely.

We want to train and educate 10 young people (18-26 year old) about audio podcast production by using basic tools and equipment, open source software and free publishing services/platform using participants’ creativity. Podcast is one of the most powerful media for sharing ideas and thoughts about problems, challenges and issues in our local communities. It is an easy way for your voice to be heard and one of best ways to connect with other peers and create a network. Sharing podcasts can inspire other young people to podcast production and opportunity for their voices to be heard.
