Finalist – Macedonia: Wild Herbs Exchange Network

Macedonia is a country with lush nature and a large number of medicinal herbs and teas. People that live in remote villages have a natural remedy for every ailment but they have very little contact with the rest of the world. We plan to educate these people on the importance in sharing this knowledge by exchange of information and cures using the internet. We will also ask young bloggers to photograph and write about these wild herbs. This way we also produce the first eco journalists in Macedonia that can speak for people from remote villages.

Macedonia: My Ordinary Roma Life

The overall goal is to positively promote the Roma ethnic group through usage of media tools as well to start on-line and public discussion on stereotypes and prejudice towards Roma community in the country and ways of overcoming them. The objective is to train 10 young Roma community members on the techniques of using media tools in positive promotion of the community and to compose video through photo's of ordinary day of 5 Roma families.

Dolneni municipality is a rural municipality, which has 36 undeveloped villages and represents a segmented society in which live citizens of different nationalities. Five educational camps will be realized and people will be encouraged to speak openly about the problems they face every day. At the same time they will learn how to make problems to become visible and to demonstrate initiative for their solving by using digital and social media.
