This proposed project is related with the lives of those youth, who are chewing the Gutkha, and Gutkha is the cause of mouth cancer. so saving the lives of those youth is very necessary and relevant to saving the humanity. The aim of this project is very super to saving the lives of youth.
Really Ghutka is dangerous disease cancer commonly caused bt chewing Ghutka. So I encourage to those CSOs that are working on Anti Ghutka campaign.
This is currently need to work on such issues like this, Gutkha is a dangerous drug for youth, so projects like this will play a good character in the lives of marginalized youth to saving their lives.
Very important issue, i appericiate to this project, i hpoe Global Voices will approve this project to support our poor community, who need awareness about gutkha…
Most important topic on focusing basic health of youth, we strongly support this project is very beneficial for the youth, who are losing their lives due to chewing Gutkha.
I really appreciate the hard working against Gutkha of EQUALITY FOR ALL organization, the problem identification is demand driven of this area, i hope EFAO will bring change in this rural and coastal area.
I am really impressed to see proposal on one of the burning issue of coastal Districts of Sindh province. District Thatta being the coastal district of the province has alarming social development indicators and living standard of the people; most of the people are daily wage laborers involved in fishing sector. On the one hand they have very scared livelihoods sources; resulting they are often hand to mouth in routine life, while, on the other hand once can openly observe the whole populations using this dangerous drug (Ghutka).
Being local one form the same area I would like to share such strange findings mentioned here:
• People use to purchase food for their families on credit from local shopkeepers but, they have to purchase Ghutka in cash on daily basis, no credit system in this business!!
• Only children on mothers’ milk are skipped, rest of whole population including male, female, boys and girls are daily users of Ghutka.
• No any single children in primary schools from class one till five you will find who does not use Ghutka.
• Ghutka sellers use to come to schools to sell Ghutka instead of confectionary and toffees for children, and no one fells it bad.
Above all, it seems that we are gradually accepting the trend of moving our nations towards cancer disease which is spreading in our area very rapidly. And, on the other hand no one is there to realize it, work for its advocacy and control.
