Cyprus: From Our Perspective: Discussing Disability
The project will provide training to people with disabilities and their representative organisations in digital storytelling, aiming to empower participants with the skills to convey to the general public their experiences and the issues of relevance to them. Two training workshops will be followed by pubic screenings that will highlight the commonalities that exist across the Cyprus divide so contributing to improved dialogue and understanding.
Romania: Transylvanian Online Cook Book
We are trying to encourage and preserve the Transylvanian way of living,make it heard through generations-old stories and recipes. Transylvania is a very special region in Romania due to its multicultural and multiethnic influences. We will create an online platform where anyone can post their traditional recipes, pictures along with a special story they have about it, and we ourselves will record,take pictures and share some stories on our own.
Uganda: Mukenkedde Women’s Forum
Women in Busoga, Uganda’s poorest region, form groups of 30-40 members known as Mukenkedde (beloved friend). They visit one member per fortnight, donating “prizes” including mugs, clothes and some cash to the host. Most resources, though, are spent on feasting and entertainment. The proposed project aims at mobilizing the women to use the scarce resources for development activities, not feasting and entertainment, so as to raise household income.
Pakistan: Radio Vision
Aiming to provide a job market to youth with visually impairments. Radio Vision Pakistan is a project initiated by Visionary Foundation Pakistan, for persons with visual impairments, in this online radio, RJ’s that will conduct the show will be persons with visual impairments. This unique project will open a new window of job opportunities for persons with visual impairments also play a very vital role in the mainstream of the society.
Colombia: Ecología Ambulante (Ambulant Ecology)
Create a new voice from transdisciplinary knowledge and the everyday experience of rural children, through edu-communication methodology based on open-free models of collective creation to develop artistic and research practices, related to the concept of local territory with a common and amusing language. These practices will be communicated with virtual and analogical media, that emerge from interactions between diverses communities
Ecuador: Open Journalism with Open Licenses and Technologies
Many initiatives of community and citizen journalism aim to strengthen people, their rights and liberties, but that is impossible with private technologies and under a “copyright” perspective. That’s why we want to train communicators, journalists and teachers in the use of free technologies and open licenses. The training will begin with a virtual part, followed by an in-person part to produce stories of citizen participation.
India: To Promote and Preserve Indigenous Culture and Languages
We are seeking some resources to establish a community library with a computer lab where the people of the village come together and discuss their problems and solution, children have conversation with elderly about the indigenous/old culture, folk music, arts and local language; the way to pass the cultural values into the new generation, to train the participants in computer and social networking so that they could share it with wider community
Uganda: After the War Poverty Evidence
What need to be proposed here is affect of war in this area of Apala and Abia Sub-counties which resulted into traditional way of indigenous culture of animal keeping which used to support domestic income leading to too much poverty. It is time to produce documents to show to the world for attraction of sympathizers reactions
Colombia: Radio and Forum Mariamulata
Create a Radio (internet and radio wave) and a network communication system for Rincón del Mar. Internet has arrive recently to this village. We will set up first a social Forum for Mariamulata Cultural Center, then an internet radio station open to local and communitarian use. The oral tradition and storytelling roots are rich as music and culture. How to take advantage of technology for empowerment and appropriation is what should be learn.
Thailand: Mekong ICT Camp 2013
Mekong ICT Camp: A biannual training workshop on ICT for citizen media, community health, and civil society development in Mekong sub-region. We have committed to the ICT capacity development for the talents and organizations in the sub-region to make sure the sub-region's abilities are kept abreast with other parts of the world and can serve for the collective objectives for social development from the NGO and nonprofit sector as a whole.
