Uganda: Raising Voices for the Rural People

Snow Rural Community Development is proposing to implement a project that will target the youth in Kasese district focusing on those that stay and live in the rural area by giving them skills and knowledge on how to capture stories, community needs, lessons and experiences of the rural people and share the information through the media by partnering with the local radio stations. The proposed project will support the rural unemployed youth to promote the right to communication and technology. After sharing the stories through the media it will be an opportunity for community development.

Morocco: Friendship Society, Cultural and Artistic

The project of cultural and art on the Internet and on the ground, targeting young innovators and hobbyists to develop their artistic and cultural dissemination and documented, as well as workshops teaching in the field of painting, writing and photography, sewing and literacy on the ground reality and work to integrate the poor and marginalized and divorced women in society through education profession sewing and dyeing.

Burkina Faso: I Have Rights Too: Child Rights!

This is radio campaign in order to promote the rights of the children. This program consists of creating stories in order to promote children’s rights, training radio hosts, and finally how to speak about child rights and abuses of those rights in the presence of children in a sensitive manner. The stories will be broadcasting through different radio stations. Topics will include school attendance (especially for girls), right to freedom of expression, against female genital mutilation. I hope to achieve awareness to the greater population of the plight of children to exercise their rights.

Uganda: Speak Up Against Violence

Speak Up against Violence (SUV), is a women initiative project to be implemented by TICFASO Uganda a women CBO dully registered by ministry of internal affairs. Innovatively the project intends to employ social media mechanisms to amplify the voices of marginalized women affected by Gender Based Violence. The project will be implemented in partnership with six radio stations in Teso i.e TBS FM, Etop radio FM, Voice of Teso FM, Veritus radio FM, Joshou FM and Delta FM. The approach will involve training women on GBV social media model, radio talk shows, radio spot messages and social media

Cambodia: Empowering Cloghers Project

The Empowering Cloghers Project will strengthen the online presence and influence of female university students from rural Cambodia by enabling them to become Cambodian bloghers (female bloggers) – known as “cloghers” – and to become active online. This 6 month Project will train participants in setting up and designing successful blogs, writing compelling posts and promoting blogs through social media. The Project will also run a writing competition for the most effective post and set-up a “Clogher Corner” to enable networking and skills-sharing with the existing clogher community.

Kenya: Community Transparency Network

CTN proposes to initiate a community communication hub in Vihiga county to enhance community members participation in decision making of matters affecting their lives and sharing their experience with the global world.The group will run a county weekly edition, a social media platform where members will be able to access vital information and also share. The group will also run a community journalism training center where coverage of public resource management from village level to county level.

Zimbabwe: Tsamba, Incwadi

(Tsamba is Shona a word meaning letter or mail, and incwadi is a Ndebele word also meaning letter )The project involves developing a (website) blog with the name tsamba incwadi We will also train a group of young adults from marginalised communities in Zimbabwe who will use the blog as citizen journalists to write their (Tsamba/ Incwadi) blog telling the the world about their communities. The blog will have a twitter handle and Facebook page.

Croatia: Wikipedia>Local>Global

Project goal is to make minority communities of Croatia (with focus on Serbs in Croatia) more visible by using Wikipedia. Under this project there will be made research and written articles about history, culture, traditions of community in English, Serbian, Serbo-Croatian and Croatian Wikipedia. Also, articles about rights of minority groups will be translated from English Wikipedia into local Wikipedia so that local population can have source of information about their rights. Project will continue already started activity but enable more people to take part and make rural sources accessible
