There are lots of untold stories to tell in rural communities with regards to Governance, good and bad. This project shall seek to train teacher and farmer animators in rural communities of Tanzania to creatively write and disseminate community narratives in local and global media. These animators have received trainings on Governance and Democracy, they have proved to be important tool for creating awareness and influencing actions since 2011.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
These are success stories on efforts and struggles of communities in rural areas on access to water, health, education, farming, women. Also stories of hopes about struggles and narration of challenges women and men, leaders and non leaders, students (girls and boys) faces in rural communities. And photos which are showing the life and livelihood of people in mining areas of Shinyanga region.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established that will contribute to the success of the project.
We already have the animators (men and women) well trained on governace and skills to see issues, they are already “policy sharp” in the sense that they can articulate and question. Local leaders have respect in our project, they know us and they know animators. other organisation in those areas also know us.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
We will train and mentor 360 participants from seven districts in rural communities of Shinyanga, Simiyu and Geita region. We normally train a maximum of 30 people in one class.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
You may connect us to those success project in other areas and if budget allows you may as well finance one visit to such areas for our staff to see and learn. You may also connect us to resource people in the area of ICT who may join out training team to deliver the training. This persons may also be our mentor to this project.
