Nepal: Learning for Change

The proposed project aims to train the indigenous rural young people on computer and internet (social networking) so that they can channelize their voices to disseminate their and community situation. Introduction of computer and internet itself is new to the community and will be effective method to aware different social agencies to support to their social problems and advocate with government for better response.

Nepal: Empowering Majhis

We aim to empower them to identify their problems, and move forward to solve the problems by group discussion. In addition, we also aim to promote their language, dress, culture and their lifestyle so that it can be heard and shared for the development of this community. This project aims to discuss the actual problems; and approaches that they are taking to solve. A documentary will be prepared to capture whole process of discussion.

Tanzania: Chukua Hatua: Andika na Utume!

There are lots of untold stories to tell in rural communities with regards to Governance, good and bad. This project shall seek to train teacher and farmer animators in rural communities of Tanzania to creatively write and disseminate community narratives in local and global media. These animators have received trainings on Governance and Democracy, they have proved to be important tool for creating awareness and influencing actions since 2011.

Romania: Colourblind Blogs

Technical assistance to promote the daily events for identity of the Roma minority using new media, specifically Blogs. Increasing public awareness on positive models of Roma communities in five selected comunities in a period of 5 months. These two specific objectives contribute to the overall objective of the project, namely: increasing youth communication in online environments through their work on an online environments.

Eucador: Message

The project is aimed at working with the Commune Silvayacu Indigenous Quechua, the Palma Roja parish, Canton Putumayo province of Sucumbíos, Ecuador's Amazon region, where they have no access to or knowledge of the use and advantages of digital communication, through Internet, to teach and encourage members of the community, start using the Internet: Google, Facebook, Twitter, to connect with the world, as a way to preserve and promote on line.

Serbia: Azad.MOV – Video Advocacy for Migrants’ Rights

Azad.MOV project aims to to disseminate digital video producing skills among migrants residing in or transiting through Serbia. The goal is to encourage migrants to document human rights violations and promote their participation in the debate on the current migration policies. To achieve these goals we will organise workshops near asylum seekers reception centres and establish web platform for publishing video content created by trainees.

Poland: Meet Active Citizens

We want to make 5 different videos of 5 different communities from our town (Gdynia). There will be children, people 50+, people with disabilities and other active people working for the whole community. The videos will me made in a light, flashmob convention to reach as many people as possible. We want to show the grate role of local volunteers working for others as well to show people organization that can help them.

Brazil: This is our Place Film Festival

We at Pronesis Institute of Audiovisual and Social Change have been training low-income youth to produce socially and environmentally engaged documentaries. These short documentaries (5 in total) will be shown to the community in a local film festival that will also be open to other local films. All of the films talk about social and environmental problems of the second poorest region of the State of São Paulo, Brazil.

Israel: New Media for Rising Activists

A training program for a young activist group (ages 18-25). To continue their activism for universal human rights, just peace, and an end to occupation, skills in new media, photography and video will be cultivated and applied to document human rights violations. The stories will be communicated via a shared blog to raise awareness. The group will then conduct localized training for the next generation of youth activists, multiplying the impact.

Romania: Tales of a Citizen

We will utilize online technologies to advocate the local public authorities to keep their promises of infrastructural change in the outskirts of Turda. We will accomplish this by building an activist group to create online pressure on the local authorities to tackle this issue in an efficient manner. The activists will network with the local community to actively engage them in this issue and transfer their online campaign knowledge.
