Finalist – Cameroon: We Know, Let the World Know Too

This idea plans to mobilize, train and equip 10 youths with skills and materials for grass root social media utilization for blogging in Bangem sub division of Cameroon. It focuses on engaging youths to report on hidden electoral malpractices and cultural practices which hinder the empowerment of women and youths. Trained youths will use facebook/twitter reporting and documentaries for global sharing and call for actions. Trainees will move into the hinterlands of the Bangem collect and report to the world cultural shocks, rights abuses,governance concerns and needs for the poor.

Cameroon: Questioning Public Authorities Through Citizen Media

The project seeks to empower survivors of the 1986 Lake Nyos Gas disaster who were resettled in make shift camps and have been abandoned there without adequate shelter, food security, health and sanitation. The project trains key members of the society and equip them to be able to bring their vital voices to the global community thereby putting government to task so they can take responsibility for their action.

Cameroon: Forest Angels

Project aims to train and equip young people, (boys, girls) from the forest regions on the social networks, Web journalism, and photography in the optics to constitute a network of young defenders of forest who can relieve quite abuse and mismanagement of natural resources. The project also aims to raise the voice of communities on best practices in development projects underway in their community. The project ll going a period of 4 months.
