The problem of employment of women in recent years in Ukraine became especially important: state does not provide an adequate number of places for young professionals who graduated; private employers refuse to employ women and persons without work experience and persons over 40 years.
The most pressing issue, especially in Lviv City and Lviv region, is ignoration by employers of women candidates in the provision of work. Employer Motivation: a future pregnancy, pay social payments associated with children, a number of benefits in performance, gender stereotypes, and so on.

Describe the specific population with whom you will be working.
According to sociological studies and employment services in the Lviv region can not find work for more than 70% of young professionals after graduation and women aged 20 to 28 years, due to employers.
Target audience. From project will benefit 1) women aged 20 to 28 years, 2) women older than 40 years, 3) young professionals after graduation (without experience). Benefits from the project will enable project participants to obtain formal employment and protect their employment rights by illegal actions of employers.
The scale of the project. The project is planned to cover about 60% of the target audience of potential employees, which is 45 to 50 thousand residents of the city of Lviv.
Who else will be on your team to help implement the project?
This project will be supported by three partners:
1. Infrastructural Partner – Lviv City Council – actively working with our organization for over 5 years, has the technical and infrastructure facilities, has direct access to social advertising
2. Information partner – Broadcasting “TRK Lux” and information portal “Zahid.net” – these commercial organizations we signed cooperation agreements and we get their services at low prices.
3. Advocacy support and legal consultation – Center for Legal Information and consultation “Legal service” – separated subdivision of our organization and has a base of volunteer lawyers.

The public is informed about the project through common activities with media (NGO Samopomich is publishing free of charge weekly newspaper (40 000 copies), have common projects with next media: TRK “Lux” news channel “24”, “12 Channel”, information portal “Zahid.net”).

What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?
Describe the connections that you or your organization have already established or plan to establish that will contribute to the success of the project.
Today on the base of NGO “Samopomich” acts Service Center in employment, the number of participants – women – 174. Among the members of our center conducted a survey about key issues in employment in Lviv and optimal solutions for it. Most of the results of the survey were the base for this project.
NGO Samopomich – increase legal protection of women and awareness of their rights in employment .
Lviv City Council – implementation of a citywide program to protect women and vulnerable groups of people.
Broadcasting “TRK Lux” and information portal “Zahid.net” – filling its own report on social responsibility of business/
Center for Legal Information and consultation “Legal service” – more practical opportunity for volunteer lawyers to raise their professional level.

Format – creating 5 thematic TV rolls (their inclusion in TV program on the channel 12) and 8 thematic sections, the weekly newspaper SAMOPOMICH (circulation of 40,000 copies.) on the topic “Employment for Women: Expert Advice” and active dissemination of media information through social networks. Describe in the regional media: newspapers, TV, radio problem that arose in the field of employment in recent years – writing feature articles on a project, participate in thematic TV programs, representing the target audience. Breaking gender stereotypes in employment by posting information about the labor rights of women,its spread through social networks and TV.

Women aged 20 to 28 years and women over 40 years-overcoming gender stereotypes in employment and official employment opportunities. Young people from universities and colleges (women aged 20-25) – to protect their labor rights by illegal actions of employers and providing training opportunities in private companies with subsequent employment.
What specific challenges do you expect to face when planning and implementing your project?
- Elimination of gender discrimination in the labor market and reduce unemployment among women in Lviv City
– Protection of jobseekers through qualitative and right-timed information and appropriate response of the competent authorities for wrongful acts and omissions of employers;
– Establishment of an information base of the methodological work in creating directories and booklets;
– The inhabitants of Lviv City will be able to get professional, high quality and free legal advice on labor law of qualified young specialists, that is especially important for the most vulnerable population groups of the project.
– Awareness, legal awareness and literacy of the target group of the project will reduce abuses of employers in employment.
How will you measure and evaluate the project’s impact, specifically: your primary participants, the wider regional community, or the global digital community?
The public is informed about the project through common activities with media (NGO Samopomich is publishing free of charge weekly newspaper (40 000 copies), have common projects with next media: TRK “Lux” news channel “24”, “12 Channel”, information portal “Zahid.net”). Cooperation with local authorities. Volunteers’ involvement to the activities in the frame of the project. Social advertisement on the whole territory of the project implementation.
After completion of the project organization will conduct further medial-education gender campaign on employment and gender equality on the base of the results already achieved by the project, and will monitor qualitative changes in the industry in the region. Lessons learned during the project will be transferred to other NGOs.
If your project were to be selected as a Rising Voices grantee, what would be the general timeline of project activities in 2014?
Stage 1 – Legal-training program is aimed at specialized training for potential workers, women who are in search of work.
Format – 6 thematic training seminars with practical elements.

Participants – about 250-300 of the target group of the project, 10 journalists, 20 representatives of gender human rights organizations Lviv, 5 representatives of Lviv City Employment Service, 6 qualified lawyers on labor rights, about 25-30 representatives.

Besides the microgrant funding, what other support can Rising Voices provide for your project to ensure its success?
Upon project completion, our organization will conduct follow-media-gender education campaign and disseminate the results in the protection of labor rights and combating violations, based on the results already achieved by the project, and will monitor changes in the quality field. Experience gained during the project will be transferred to other NGOs of Ukraine and Belarus, through joint roundtables and forums, by distributing printing materials survey and other practical techniques that are being committed by the project, including distribution and by creating and setting up a partner network of specialized NGOs in the framework of the Eastern partnership in the exploration of gender issues in the field of employment.
