We will equip a special age-group with the knowledge and abilities to use the new media as the tool to share information and experiences with the peers and to be able to be activly involved in the process of creating the content of the local newspaper. Participants will learn: researching information, selecting, photos-making and treatment into the digital materials for Internet Local Newspaper for senior citizens.

What kinds of news, stories and other content will be created?
The digital newspaper will contain the most important news, selected by particopants, their personal stories and thoughts, as well as the information about events and important contacts, telephones, addressses, dedicated to the elderly persons. The newspaper will be a kind of recourse for the senior citizens, created by their peers. It will be also the platform to promote the active ageing-the elderly creation, e.g. poetry, stories, photos.
What technologies and digital tools do you plan to use in the trainings?

The existing partnership is between Association HIPOKAMP and the Seniors Club “M-LODZI DUCHEM”, agglomarated in the one of the city's area, as well as the daily stay houses for seniors and the welfare homes for seniors in the city. It is planned to co-operate with more local institutions, which will be interested in the project-seniors clubs and assocations. Support of local authority is also possible and considered.
How many participants do you think will be involved in your project?
The interest in the project is already defined and the senior citizens are very interested in this kind of activities. Our association is working with the elderly and the need to implement this kind of project is for us and participants of our classes-persons 60+ – obvious and very important. We will be able to sustain participation by the selecting of participants, who are most determined to take part. We plan to train 20 persons.
Besides the microgrant funding, what other resources and support are you seeking for your project to ensure its success?
We can provide in the project the resources from the association's infrastructure and equipment-workshops’ room, PC's, Internet. Our association will also provide arganization and technical support as well as gerontological expert's knowledge (staff) and approach. It is important to work with and for the elderly persons, respecting their special needs and capabilities.
