Kenya: Introducing Social Media to Grassroot Women in Kakamega

The project intends to connect ten indigenous/grassroot women groups in Kakamega County,who are engaged in different social-economic activities in order to learn from each group and hence come up with a Participatory Intergrated Community Development program which each group will be sharing through social media.The project will train and equip this vulnerable group of women on social media and videography.

Mexico: Interpersonal Communication between Non-digital Natives

The non-digital natives have difficulty communicating with the digital natives, so I intend to document the challenges they face, their thoughts and stories, decrear to record their experiences, stories in a warehouse that allows us to understand the change experiencing the presence of new information technologies and communication. This record will be made by recording videos, creating blogs, microblogs and social networking communications.

Nepal: E-Urja Chepang

‘E-Urja Chepang’ is the first online project of Chepang which aim is to develop true global conversation of Chepang Communities with rest of the world on the basis of culture and arts, citizen journalism and discussion forums. This project will use the web tools like blogging and social media networks which make them harness in their native language for truly outfitting the e- movement of Chepang.

Uganda: Source of the Nile One-story-a-day

Train 300 Source of the Nile bloggers in 25 partnering schools and 05 community libraries with computer labs how to create group blogs to share their voices widely. Work with the 10 indigenous Lusoga speakers in each school/library to use blogs and Twitter to connect with others as a way to preserve and promote Lusoga language online and cultural tourism of Busoga's Nile valley. Our target is to generate one local story a day from each trainee.

Through the social platforms Art/Dance, Stories, Poetry, Music, Nature walks will be recorded and photos taken to share to the world and Kenyan communities via a Blog, a Facebook page, Twitter Handle etc. This will be accomplished by training and mentoring youths on photo taking, video recording and writting blogs at workshops, camps, youth group meetings etc. At the end of it all Talents will be identified, natured and mostly share around the globe. Their cultural norms and values have been subject to criticism, viewed as backward and conservative. Their language over the years could not be included in the educational carricular. Through lobbying for representation, they have now received a significant representation in politics and economics.
