Repacted: Mr. and Miss Red Ribbon 2010 Walked In Style

Mr. and Miss Red Ribbon is a charity event organized annually by Nakuru Youth groups including the Rising Voices grantee Repacted from Nakuru, Kenya. As a major build up activity towards World Aids Day on December 1, 2010 this event deals with eradicating stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS.

FOKO: Referendum On Constitution And A Failed Coup

Madagascar is going through a turbulent time. A heavily disputed referendum on the new constitutional proposal was held on the 17th of November. The election process was marred by irregularities and it was also overshadowed by a failed coup attempt. Some bloggers of the Rising Voices grantee FOKO of Madagascar continued to share the news as it happened along with their opinions.

AIDS Rights Congo: Documenting Stigma And Discrimination Of HIV/AIDS Infected People

With the help of a Micro-grant awarded by Rising Voices, AZUR Development organization trained communication officers of different AIDS organizations in Congo in digital story telling, podcasting, and the creation of blogs. The bloggers of the AIDS Right Congo are continuing with their efforts of documenting the stigma and discrimination of people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in Congo.

Hiperbarrio: Podcast Workshops For The New Groups

Rising Voices grantee Hiperbarrio has been commissioned by the Foundation Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM Foundation) to provide new media trainings to outreach groups of three other libraries in Medellin. Recently these groups participated in a series of podcast workshops.
